RANDLEMAN - Nellie Allred Causey, 70, of 2961 Forest Park Drive, died Friday, May 28, 1999, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Caraway Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Jim Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Rockingham County and retired from Eckerd Drug.

Surviving are husband, Don Causey of the home; daughter, Donnette C. Honeycutt of Sophia; sons, Gene Causey and Roger Causey, both of Randleman; sister, Ann A. Greene of Charleston, S.C.; brothers, Kenneth Allred and Gene Allred, both of Randleman, Jimmy Allred of Asheboro; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, is in charge of the arrangements.

Angelene S. Doak
HIGH POINT - Angelene Nellie Sowles Doak, 94, of 201 Greensboro Road, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Presbyterian Home of High Point.

No services will be held.

She was a native of Farmington, Mich., the widow of Dr. Robert E. Doak, and a retired executive director of the American Red Cross, Randolph chapter. She attended First United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church, was president of the Woman's Club and an advisor for the Junior Woman's Club.

Surviving is sister, Hazel Preston of Seal Beach, Calif.

Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Home of High Point, Library Fund, 201 Greensboro Road, High Point, N.C. 27260.

Lula Brewer
SEAGROVE - Lula Brewer, 89, of 1507 Jason Road, died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Dover Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Donald Davis, the Rev. Mike Holyfield and the Rev. Jamie Hinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County and a farmer.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Dora H. Stanback
MT. GILEAD - Dora Mae Horne Stanback, 77, of Lutheran Home of Albemarle, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at the home.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Parson Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in Snow Hill Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Richmond County.

Surviving are brother, Sylvester Horne of Mt. Gilead; sister, Rosa Lee Little of Mt. Gilead; two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Harris Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, 8-9 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Dewey Rudisell, Rudisell Road, Mt. Gilead.

Johnny Mauldin
MT. GILEAD - John Robert "Johnny" Mauldin, 55, of N.C. 109 South, died Friday, May 28, 1999, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Hamer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Alex Willoughby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Wadesboro and a farmer.

Surviving are son, John Robert Mauldin of Nebraska; brother, Graham Mauldin of Candor; sister, Fannie Greene of Ellerbe.

Carter Funeral Home, Ellerbe, is in charge of the arrangements.

Dewey A. Campbell
Dewey Alvin Campbell, 71, of 138 Dublin Square Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parsons Grove United Methodist Church in Troy, with the Rev. Barry Lemons officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County and retired from Klaussner Furniture Industries.

Surviving are wife, Sammy Boyd Campbell of Asheboro; daughter, Diane Coble of Asheboro; mother, Esther Boyd Campbell of Asheboro; sister, Zelma Russell of Rock Hill, S.C.; brother, Cecil Campbell of Troy; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home.

Donald E. Lucas
BURLINGTON - Donald Eugene Lucas, 71, of Burlington, died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at the VA Hospital in Durham.

There will be no service.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Burlington Industries, was a licensed auctioneer, a U.S. Navy veteran and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are wife, Betty Wood Lucas of Burlington; mother, Nettie Lucas Young of Burlington; daughters, Belinda L. Williamson of Burlington, Bonnie Lucas Thomas of Summerfield; son, Barry Lynwood Lucas of Burlington; sister, Nancy McCoy of Burlington; brother, Bob Young of Burlington; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

SILER CITY - Floyd Spinks, 84, of 3418 Coleridge Road, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Chatham Hospital.

TROY - Thomas Lee Watson, 65, of 849 Holly Mt. Church Road, Candor, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at his home.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holly Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Gilead, with the Rev. Mitchell Walker officiating.

He was a native of Wake County and a retired truck driver for Clevland Plants and Flowers.

Surviving are wife, Willie Brooks Watson of the home; daughters, Linda W. Shepard and Teresa Watson, both of Candor; son, Alan Watson of Wendell; four grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, immediately before the funeral service on Tuesday.

Gladys S. Johnson
Gladys Sink Johnson, 92, of 4427 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro, died Friday, May 21, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Farmer Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Jeff Lamb and the Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Cemetery, High Point.

She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of O.C. (Chester) Johnson and a former member of the Archdale Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are daughter, Jacquline Lamb of Asheboro; son, Richard Bob Johnson of Thomasville; brothers, Claude Sink, Leland Sink and Ralph Sink, all of Thomasville; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Saturday.

Jeffrey F. Mickle
Jeffrey "Bear" Franklin Mickle, 41, of 418 Old Liberty Road, died Thursday, May 20, 1999 at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cumby Funeral Home, Archdale, with Pastor Pete Kunkle officiating.

He was a native of High Point, a truck driver, a member of First Christian Church of Kernersville and a bass guitar player who played with the band "Outta Tha Blue."

Surviving are daughter, Revonda E. Mickle of Asheboro; sons, James Mickle of Asheboro, Timothy Patterson of Yadkinville; sister, Debbie Goodman of Greensboro; brother, Garland Mickle of High Point; stepsister, Felicia Mickle of Belew's Creek; stepbrother, Monty Mickle of Belew's Creek; Dawn Elizabeth Patterson.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1130 N. Main St., Kernersville, N.C. 27284.

Sue C. Howell
Sue Craft Howell, 95, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Pinewood Memorial Park.

She was a native of Toccoa, Ga., the widow of Waitus Woodard Howell, a 1925 graduate of LaGrange College, LaGrange, Ga., and a 1931 graduate of North Carolina State University with an M.S. degree in English, education and business. She was the head of the Department of Secretarial Science at Elon College, taught English and public speaking at NCSU, was a student teacher supervisor in the Business Department at East Carolina University and Chairman of the Business Education Department for at J. H. Rose High School, where she also taught English, Latin and French. She was a former substitute teacher, listed in "Who's Who in American Education" in 1965 and "Who's Who in American Women" in 1970. In 1981 she received a certificate of appreciation from Governor Hunt for service to the community and to the State of North Carolina. She was an author and a member of Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church, where she taught the Ada Cherry Sunday School Class. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Colonial Dames, a charter member and past president of the Round Table Book Club of Greenville, and a charter member of the Pilot Club International where she was Pilot of the Year in 1968.

Surviving are brother, Blake Craft of Athens, Ga.; a sister, Pinkie C. Ware of Arden; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the cemetery following the service.

Memorials may be made to the Sue C. Howell Scholarship Fund, Randolph Community College, P.O. Box 1009, Asheboro, N.C. 27204.

Allen W. Daniel
LEXINGTON - Allen Whiston Daniel, 74, of 2778 Giles Road, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, with the Rev. Johnny Daniel and the Rev. Mike Motley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park.

He was a native of Davidson County, retired owner/operator of Daniel Lumber Company, a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of Summerville Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife, Velmer J. Anderson Daniel of the home; daughter, Marcia Daniel of Asheboro; sisters, Juanita Weaver of Denton and Magdalene Lanier of Midland.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Marilyn M. Bunting
Marilyn Miller Bunting, 70, of 568 Road Runner Drive, Asheboro, died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at her home.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at West Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lee Roy Hunt officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County and had worked as a hosiery knitter for 20 years.

Surviving are husband, Herman A. Bunting of Asheboro; daughters, Cynthia E. Williamson and Helen T. Bunting, both of Asheboro; sons, Bruce A. Bunting of Asheboro, Keith H. Bunting of Denton; brothers, E.C. Miller of Randleman, Johnny W. "J W" Miller, Charles Miller, Jack Miller, Larry Miller and Bill Miller, all of Asheboro, Don Miller of Newton; sisters, Joyce Skeen, Nancy Freeman, Beverly Davidson, all of Asheboro; nine grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home.

Henry Worth Reading, 82, of 791 Loflin Pond Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Sunrise Care & Rehabilitation of Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Randy McLeod officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired supervisor with over 40 years at Sapona Mills of Cedar Falls and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving are wife, Ethel Lineberry Redding; sons, George C. Redding and Ronald C. Redding, both of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday.

James N. Maness
FRANKLINVILLE - James Newell "Toad" Maness, 59, of 780 W. Main St., died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Junior Dawkins and the Rev. Jesse Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Franklinville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a truck driver for the N.C. Department of Transportation and a member of Franklinville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are wife, Peggy Beane Maness; daughter, Connie Green of Franklinville; brothers, Johnny Maness of Cedar Falls, Jerry Maness of Asheboro.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home of Alvin Beane, 776 W. Main St., Franklinville.

She was a native of Montgomery County.

Surviving are daughter, Frances G. Inman of Troy; sons, Furman Ray Green of Asheboro, Jerry T. Green of Southern Pines; sisters, Kathleen M. Greene and Mary M. O'Quinn, both of Biscoe, Lula M. Dunlap of Robbins; brothers, Paul McCaskill, Jesse McCaskill and Joel McCaskill, all of Biscoe; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Montez V. Hardison
WILMINGTON - Montez Vickers Hardison, 52, of Wilmington, formerly of Randleman, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Hospice Care Center of Wilmington.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Carolina Beach.

Surviving are daughter, Tammy Paczany of Wilmington; sister, Virginia "Doodie" V. Welborn of Carolina Beach; two grandchildren.

TRINITY - John Henry Gray Sr., 89, of 4808 Archdale Road, died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Sunrise of the Triad.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Trinity, where he was a member, with the Rev. James Harris officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.

He was a native of Trinity, the widower of Clara Neal Gray, employed with Founders Furniture Company, Pleasant Garden, and later in the custodian department of the Randolph County School System and was a member of King Solomon Lodge #7.

Surviving are son, Leonard Franklin Gray of the home; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 2:30 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.
