Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, with the Rev. Jeff Lamb and the Rev. Bucky Davis officiating. Burial will be in Leach Family Cemetery, Star.
She was a native of Randolph County the widow of Ervin "Bo" Scott and was retired from Perry Furniture.
Surviving are sons, Charles Scott of Banner Elk, Mike Scott of Pee Dee, Frankie Scott and Richard Scott, both of Troy, Johnny Scott of Randleman; daughters, Peggy Harden of Candor, Frances Dunn of Troy; 18 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

Louise Boyles Carter, 81, of 1174 Iron Mountain View Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at her home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, Ramseur, where she was a member. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a 1936 graduate of Seagrove High School and had been employed at Carter's Grocery.

He was a native of Randolph County.

She was a native of Hamblen County, Tenn. and a homemaker.

LIBERTY - Elmer D. Hinshaw, 78, formerly of 10704D N.C. 49 South, died Monday, June 28, 1999, at Moses Cone Extended Care Facility, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Howard Spray officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Alamance County, a member of the Men's Sunday School class at his church and previously owned and operated cattle, poultry, grain and forage crop farms in Randolph, Chatham and Alamance counties.
Surviving are sister, Ruby Hinshaw of Greensboro; brother, Rayborn F. Hinshaw of Jamestown.

He was a retired Master Sgt. with the U.S. Army, an ex-POW and retired from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of Phoenix Lodge #8, Longleaf Pine Order of the Eastern Star, the New Bern Scottish Rites-White Shrine and the American Ex-POWs.
Surviving are sons, Doyle W. Hubbard and Samuel P. Hubbard, both of Fayetteville; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two stepgrandchildren.

He was a church trustee for 62 years, taught Sunday School for 63 years and was retired from Klopman Mills.

He was a native of Grand Gorge, N.Y., a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired auto mechanic after 42 years with Hancock Buick, a member of the Wesley Fidelity Sunday School Class and the Men's Club at his church and a member of the Green Hill Hunt Club and the Brunnerdale Hunt Club.
Surviving are wife, Willie Mae "Dit" Cornwell Wallace of Columbia, S.C.; daughters, Frances Powell of Columbia, S.C., and Grace Pound of St. Matthews, S.C.; sons, Harry Wallace of Hartsville, S.C., and Eddie Wallace of Asheboro; sisters, Bertha Jane Wallace Grippin and Alice Wallace Harris, both of New York; brother, Harry Wallace of New York; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
