Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Joseph Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker.
Surviving are sons, Walter J. Nooe of Ramseur, John Tyler Nooe of Asheboro; stepsons, Clifford Nooe of Baltimore, Md., Bennett Nooe and Howard Nooe, both of Troy, Donnie Nooe of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepdaughters, Lottie Deaton and Zeola Freeman, both of Asheboro; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

SEAGROVE - Emily Hurst Gillson, 93, of 625 Fork Creek Mill Road, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Lexington Memorial Hospital, Lexington.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Seagrove United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. Kelly Shiflet and the Rev. James Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Whynot Cemetery.
She was a native of England, a potter and pottery teacher in New York, attended Asheboro Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a member of the Eastern Star in New York.
Surviving are daughter, Kee Sae Tia of Trinity; sons, Richard Gillson of the home, Joe Sim of Trinity, Hao Sea-Lim of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Evelyn Vincent of Falconer, N.Y., Ethel Zboch of Bear Lake, N.Y.; one grandchild; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Hansel Beane, 85, of Melbourne, Fla., died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
Graveside service was 11 a.m. Wednesday at Florida Memorial Gardens.
He was a native of Seagrove, a retired sergeant from the U.S. Army after 36 years and was a World War II and Korea U.S. veteran. He was a member of VFW Melbourne Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 163 and the D.A.V., both in Melbourne.
Surviving are wife, Patricia Beane of Melbourne, Fla.; stepson, Gregory McGuire of Tacoma, Wash.; daughters, Rhonda Howard of Titusville, Fla., Judy Wissa and Youda Brady, both of High Point, Norvie Poole, Daphine Saunders and Fern Miller, all of Asheboro, Jewell Scott of Seagrove; four grandchildren.

He was a native of New York, a graduate of City College of New York, and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He was a retired finance manager with AT&T, attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church and was a member of Siler City Country Club.
Surviving are wife, Marge Healy Hodson of the home; daughter, Diane Mahalati of North Andover, Mass., Margaret Mattoon of Greensboro; sons, Robert Hodson of Asheboro, James Hodson of Groton, Conn.; sisters, Kathryn Senecal of Long Beach, N.Y., Claire Dunne of East Hampton, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren.

He was a native of Severn, the widower of Ruth W. Fleetwood, received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Wake Forest University and was a high school teacher and principal in LaCrosse, Va. and in Severn. He was a World War II veteran and a retired lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve after 20 years, and a marketing specialist for the Peanut Growers Cooperative Marketing Association.
Surviving are son, Dr. George Robert Fleetwood of Reidsville; daughter, Martha F. Tardieu of Chapel Hill; four grandchildren.
