Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Joseph Mack officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, of the Catholic faith and employed at Randolph Packing.
Surviving are sons, Norberto Duarte Jr. of Augusta, Ga., and Jason Duarte of Asheboro; mother, Engracia Ramirez of Fayetteville; sisters, Ada Luz Duarte and Felicia Duarte, both of Costa Rica, Blanca Nelly Duarte and Lillian Duarte, both of Georgia, Elba Duarte and Jeanette Duarte, both of Florida, and Maria Duarte of North Carolina; brothers, Roberto Duarte of Costa Rica and Jose Vincente Duarte, Gelbert Duarte and Carlos Duarte, all of North Carolina; two grandchildren.
A Rosary service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with visitation following until 9 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of Gelbert Duarte, 705 Tall Pine St., Asheboro.

DENTON - Ovellia Martin Edwards, 83, of Cedar Branch Road, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999.

She was a native of Cleveland County, a homemaker and the widow of Peter H. Edwards.
Surviving are sons, Orbra Edwards and Ronald Edwards, both of Denton, Horace Edwards of Canton and Dwight Edwards of Nesbitt, Miss.; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

ARCHDALE - Harold Flack, 71, of 5620 Poole Road, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel. Burial will be in Carolina Biblical Gardens.
He was of the Baptist faith, retired after 45 years as an electrician, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

ROBBINS - Edgar Carlton Kennedy, 83, of 114 Oak St., died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Earl Dulaney and the Rev. David Beck officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.
He was a native of Lee County, a member of Elise Lodge #555 AF & AM, a past Patron of the Robbins Chapter #283 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a former Robbins town commissioner and retired after 39 years with the Milliken Co.
Surviving are wife, Kathleen Rowell Kennedy; daughter, Kathy K. Reynolds of Candor; sons, Carlton G. Kennedy of Robbins, Larry Kennedy of Star, Clifford Kennedy of Burlington and Garry Kennedy of Lumberton; sisters, Mabel K. Reynolds of Robbins and Irene Beal of Cumnock; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Chatham County, an Army veteran of World War II, a retired truck driver from J.P. Stevens Co. in Greensboro and a member of Cool Springs United Methodist Church.

She was a native of Carthage, the widow of Myrton T. Stewart, retired as Moore County Library supervisor and honored by the renaming of the library to the Stewart Building.

She was a native of New York, N.Y., the widow of L.C. McKenzie and Harry "Hank" I. Miller and a Girl Scout leader. She was a former member of Roseboro Methodist Church, a current member of McDonald's Chapel Presbyterian Church, a hospital and cancer volunteer, and chairperson for the Survivors Relay for Life.
