He was a retired employee of the N.C. Department of Correction.

She was a native of San Jose, Costa Rica and was employed by Carolina Cafe.

She was a native of Cumberland County and an employee of Carolina-Pacific Trucking Company.

GREENSBORO - Joseph Lewis Turner, 77, of 4904 Forest Oaks Drive, formerly of Asheboro, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rich & Thompson Mortuary, Burlington, with the Rev. John Franklin Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.
He was a native of Danville, Va., the widower of Louise Christman Turner, retired executive with Burlington Industries, a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church, a 1950 graduate of North Carolina State University and a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.
Surviving are sons, Chris Turner of Kernersville, Rex Turner of Tega Cay, S.C.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; foster mother, Juanita Henry.
The family will be at the funeral home 10-11 a.m. Thursday.

Slagle Jr. and John Curtis Slagle, both of the home; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Slagle of Troy; brothers, Hobart Daniel Curtis of Oakdale, Tenn., Raymond Warren Curtis of Harriman, Tenn., Charles Harry Curtis of Kingston, Tenn., Albert Bamey Curtis of Tennessee; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
