BISCOE - James Edward Latham, 83, of Biscoe, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Biscoe, with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy.

He was a native of Montgomery County and a retired textile worker.

Surviving are daughters, Nonnie Maness of Biscoe, Margaret Burr of Eagle Springs, Sandra Brock and Dianne Callicutt, both of Troy; sons, Dallas Latham of Troy, Darrell Latham of Princeton W. Va., Charles Latham of Star; sisters, Ethel Lemonds of Troy, Esther Mae Britt of Biscoe; brothers, Marvin Latham and Edgar Latham, both of Jacksonville, Howard Latham of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Tues.

Mack L. Greene
Mack Lee Greene, 65, of 1608 Burney Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at Appleton Medical Center, Appleton, Wis.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Center Cross Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Richard Fisher officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a deacon, was retired from Eveready Battery and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Surviving are wife, Carrie Chriscoe Greene of the home; daughters, Kathy G. Brown of Liberty, Sharon G. Gretzinger of Leopolis, Wis., Benita G. Macon of Asheboro, Joan E. Greene of Seagrove; son, Douglas L. Greene of Asheboro; sisters, Amanda Pickett and Faie Dunn, both of Asheboro; brother, Bud Greene of Asheboro; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

RANDLEMAN - Theresa Elizabeth Farlow, 77, of 409 Park St., died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Wesleyan Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Alvin C. Newcomb, the Rev. James Denny and the Rev. Raeford Brim officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Randleman and retired from Pinehurst Textile.

Surviving are sister, Beatrice Burns of Asheboro; brothers, Joe Farlow of Randleman, Fred Farlow of Asheboro.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Denise Allison, 211 E. Naomi St., Randleman.

RANDLEMAN - Leona Marie Yeomans, 69, of 4936 Cherry Wood Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at her home.

She was a native of Binghamton, N.Y., a certified nursing assistant and a member of First Christian Church in New York.

She was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker.

Surviving are sons, Michael Adams of Asheboro, John Adams of Randleman; daughter, Molita A. Kidd of Asheboro; sisters, Judy Brown of Seagrove, Anna Barfield of Asheboro, Johnnie Susan Buheller of Greensboro; six grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of the daughter, 3695 N.C. 42 South, Asheboro.

Pauline C. Barnette
EAGLE SPRINGS - Nellie Pauline Carter Barnette, 82, of 400 Eagle Springs Road, formerly of West End, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at West End Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Dudley Crawford officiating. Burial will be in West End Cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County, the widow of Brownlee Barnette and was retired from Stanley Furniture Company as a sander.

Surviving are son, James Barnette of Wilson; daughter, Ann Luck of Eagle Springs; brothers, Roy Carter and John Carter, both of West End, Carlton Carter of Jackson Springs; sister, Anna Tart of Aberdeen; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

CAMERON - Betty Sue Duckworth, 42, of Cameron, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Highland Baptist Church, with Pastor Bill Vaughn and the Rev. Tracy Gross officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, attended Southwestern Randolph High School and was a teacher at Highland Christian Academy.

Surviving are husband, Thomas E. Duckworth; sons, Bobby Wayne Duckworth of Lakeview, James Odell Duckworth and Gene Duckworth, both of Cameron; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odell Gallimore of Seagrove; brothers, Kenneth Lee Gallimore of West End, David Wayne Gallimore of Steeds, James William Gallimore of Seagrove; sister Martha Aileen Gallimore of Biscoe; three grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Union County, the widow of Wayne Craig Bingham Sr. and retired from Sew Special of Asheboro.

Surviving are daughter, Barbara B. Bennett of Sophia; son, Wayne Craig "Chuck" Bingham Jr. of Shreveport, La.; brother, Donald Conder of Charlotte; sisters, Evelyn Hargett and Doris Waller, both of Charlotte; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Saturday.

Marnil Allred
RANDLEMAN - Marnil Allred, 81, of 2733 Old Liberty Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Friday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. John Harmon officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired brick mason, World War II U.S. Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are sister, Zona Stuart of Liberty; brothers, William Allred and John Aldridge, both of Asheboro; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8 p.m. Friday.

DENTON - Nellie Gallimore Glover Snider, 90, formerly of Jones Street, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Mountain Vista Health Park, Denton.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton.

Robert J. Poole
TROY - Robert Joshua Poole, 73, of 659 Robedo Road, Mt. Gilead, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Troy, with the Rev. Gary Rutherford and the Rev. Mike Holyfield officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are wife, Polly Hopper Poole of the home; daughter, Patsy Poole of Cary; sons, Chris Poole of Troy, James Poole of Mt. Gilead; brothers, Joe "Bud" Poole and Paul Poole, both of Troy; sister, Ruth P. Pierce of Mt. Gilead.

Lester W. Councilman
BONLEE - Lester William Councilman, 72, of 57 Bonlee School Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bonlee Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Darrell Williams officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.

He was a native of Chatham County, former owner/operator of Councilman's Grocery, was retired from Thomas Brothers Hams and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving are wife, Vernell S. Councilman of Bonlee; son, Richard Lee Councilman of Sanford; daughter, Gilda C. Buckner of Ramseur; sisters, Marie C. Allred of Bonlee, Martha Jane Maness of Durham; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Friday.

John Dewitt King, 76, of Seagrove, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Seagrove United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Fran Moran and Gene Bumgarner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, retired owner/operator of J.D. King Realty & Auction Co., Inc., a member of the Asheboro/Randolph Board of Realtors and on the Board of Directors of First National Bank in Seagrove.

Surviving are wife, Virginia Krewson King; daughters, Annette K. Bean and Mary Ella King, both of Asheboro, Marlene K. Albright of Denton, Helen K. Wallace of Harrisburg, Linda K. Barrett of Wilson; son, John D. "Jay" King Jr. of Asheboro; sister, Doris K. Auman of Benson; 10 grandchildren.

STALEY - Kenneth Alvin Petree, 64, of 1961 Scotten Road, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Junior Dawkins officiating.

He was a native of Guilford County, a painting contractor and a member of Worthville Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife, Pauline Johnson Petree of the home; son, Randy Petree of Staley; daughter, Cynthia Brower of Staley; brothers, David Petree of Vero Beach, Fla., Edwin Petree of Burlington, Joe Petree of Oak Ridge, Johnny Petree of Staley; sister, Doris Wilson of Burlington; three grandchildren

SILER CITY - Annie Willard Walters Moody, 92, of 716 Jim Moody Road, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rives Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev Gerald Bridges, the Rev. J.L. Shoun and the Rev. Luther Lemon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Chatham County and was a pianist, choir member and Sunday school teacher at her church.

Surviving are daughter, Sue Ann Gunter of Siler City; sons, Bobby Moody and Jimmy Moody, both of Siler City, Walker Moody of Asheboro; brother, George Walters of Siler City; sisters, Alice Lowdermilk of Greensboro, Lou Land of Wilmington; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

Emma Lou Lanier Farlow, 80, of 6032 High Pine Church Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at High Pine Wesleyan Church, where she was a member, with the Rev Wyatt Hoogkamp officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, retired from Bost Neckware, a member of the Adult Bible Class at her church and the Wesleyan Women International and was the recent recipient of the Senior Saint Faithful Servant Award at her church.

Surviving are husband, Dennis E. Farlow of the home; daughters, Linda Thornburg, Elaine McKenzie and Erma Kiser, all of Asheboro; son, Nolan Farlow of Grand Blanc, Mich.; sisters, Ola Mae Trogdon, Zelma King and Betty Hammer, all of Asheboro; brother, Lowell Lanier of Sophia; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Grace Caviness Millikan, 89, formerly of East Balfour Avenue, Asheboro, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at Asheboro Health and Rehabilitation.

She was a native of Moore County and the widow of Richard M. Millikan.

Surviving are daughter, Kitty Branch of Asheboro; sisters, Ila Presnell of Asheboro, Gladys Grey of Fountain Valley, Calif.; brothers, Clifford Caviness of Laurinburg, Bill Caviness and A.B. Caviness Jr., both of Asheboro; two granddaughters.
