She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Robert Lee Summey and was a retired textile worker.
Surviving are sons, Robert Franklin Summey and John Lee Summey, both of Asheboro; sister, Rosa Lee Garren of Asheboro; brother, Benjamin Franklin Crotts Jr. of Burlington; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of Thomas Aaron "Buck" Yates, a former employee of Kayby Mills Inc. and was a retired employee with Thomasville Furniture Industries. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fair Grove Fire Department, the Adult Bible Class at her church and the Baptist Women.
Surviving are daughter, Dianne Hicks of Summerfield; sons, Kirby Wayne Yates of Ramseur, Bradley Thomas Yates of Sophia, Fred Martin Yates of Thomasville; sisters, Nellie H. Lanning of Camas, Wash., Vera Fitzgerald of Tyro, Alice Foster of Reeds, Hazel Sides of Welcome; brothers, John T. Hedrick and Richard Hedrick, both of Thomasville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Russ Ward and the Rev. Bill Leist officiating. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Prospect Presbyterian Cemetery, Mooresville.
He was a native of Statesville, a graduate of Statesville High School and Mitchell College in Statesville and a World War II veteran. He was employed with Klopman Mills/Burlington Industries for 43 years in Mooresville, Statesville, Covington, Va. and Asheboro, was a deacon and elder at his church and a former member of the Asheboro Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are wife, Jane Edmiston Miller; son, David Edmiston Miller of High Point; daughter, Ruth M. Pugh of Asheboro; five grandchildren.
