Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Reggie Rakes officiating. Burial will be at Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, had been employed with Klopman Mills and she attended Pentecostal Victory Temple Church in Siler City.
Surviving are son, James Wesley Overman of Ramseur; brother, Lewis Hicks of Siler City; two grandchildren.

TROY - Mae Brown Brewer, 88, of 907 Lindsey Drive, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dover Baptist Church, Seagrove, where she was a member, with Dr. Don Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Moore County and retired from Clayson Knitting Co.
Surviving are daughters, Ernestine Comer of Seagrove, Sadie McNeill of Winston-Salem; sisters, Nova Freeman and Christine Duckworth, both of Biscoe, Mildred Patterson of Greensboro; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Moore County, the widow of Joseph H. (Pete) Adcock, retired from RamTex and of the Presbyterian faith.

He was a native of Chatham County, a veteran of the Korean War and retired from Hadley Peoples Manufacturing Co.

She was a native of Moore County, a retired secretary with Monroe Lumber Co. and a member of High Falls Friends Church.

He was a native of Durham, formerly employed with Duke Power in Durham and was a member of All Souls Anglican Church where he served as a vestryman. He was employed with Randolph Electrical Membership Corp. for 21 years and was a licensed electrician and formerly coached softball and football in the city recreation league.
Surviving are wife, Janice Sturgess Whitfield of Asheboro; daughter, Jennifer Marie Jester of the home; sons, John Andrew Whitfield of the home, Benjamin Whitfield of Texas; sister, JoAnn Knowles Koch of Wilmington; brother, Ralph McKinley Whitfield II of Bahama, N.C.; stepparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Vernon Utley of Hampstead.

She was a native of Toledo, Ohio, a member of White Crest Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, retired from the Civil Service in the medical field and was a secretary at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.

Laverne Goodman Rehder, 83, formerly of Southport, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at Asheboro Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was the first woman to earn a private pilot's license in the state ot North Carolina and was a retired supervisor with Piedmont Airlines in Winston-Salem after 27 years.
Surviving are sons, John B. Rehder of Knoxville, Tenn., Charles W. Rehder of Greensboro; sister, Letha White of Salisbury; three grandchildren; one great-grandson.
