Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Friday at Huldah Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Wayne Vuncannon and the Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County and a Sunday School teacher at her church.

Surviving are husband, Robert M. Yates of the home; son, Deevon Yates of Denton; sister, Fern Lowdermilk of Asheboro; brother, Dale Lowdermilk of Asheboro; one grandson.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.

Herman R. Parson
Herman Ray Parson, 54, of 486 St. Peters Church Road, Randleman, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peters UM Church, Randleman. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are mother, Beatrice Sellars Parson of the home; sons, Herman Eugene Parson of Asheboro, Shawn Lorenza Parson and Ryan Lamar Parson, both of Greensboro; sisters, Ollie Manaway and Carmen Mollette, both of Randleman; two grandchildren.

Gailes Funeral Service, Asheboro, was in charge of the arrangements.

DENTON - Brink T. Hunt, 79, of 160 John Carroll Lane, Denton, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lineberry United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Peter McGuire and the Rev. Randy Lucas officiating. Burial will be the church cemetery.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.

Holland R. Miller Jr.
WINSTON-SALEM - Holland Reid Miller Jr., 62, of 2738 Patria St., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, Main Street, Winston-Salem, with the Rev. Tim Gammons and the Rev. Zeno Groce officiating.

He was a native of Winston-Salem, a retired carpenter, attended Woodland Baptist Church and was a U. S. Navy veteran.

Surviving are mother, Vernice Moore Miller of the home; son, William Reid Miller of the home; sisters, Phyllis Branch of Winston-Salem, Kay Walker of Denton.

The family will be at the funeral home following the service.

ROBBINS - Paul Light, 79, of 1187 N. Moore Road, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Chatham Memorial Hospital, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at High Falls United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Robert Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Chatham County, World War II U.S. Army veteran and manager of Riverside Country Club, High Falls.

Surviving are wife, Margie Phillips Light of the home; sisters, Lucille Whitt and Joan Talley, both of Carbonton.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.

Beulah C. Ray
ROBBINS - Beulah Copeland Ray, 97, of 564 Sunset Drive, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Westwood Health & Rehab Center, Archdale.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Tabernacle Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Earl Dulaney and the Rev. Edgar Armfield Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Pine Rest cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County, the widow of Eddie Clarence Ray, a retired school teacher and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughter, Linda R. Winslow of Jamestown; sons, Jerry B. Ray of Atlanta, Ga., Harold F. Ray of Seagrove, Elbert C. Ray of Robbins; sisters, Ethel C. Pelty of Mt. Clemmons, Mich., Connie C. Ritter of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Elbert Ray, 706 Simmons Road, Robbins.

Loster C. Harris Jr.
MT. GILEAD - Loster Clora Harris Jr. ,79, of 103 Sunrise Ave, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at the home of his daughter in Wilmington.

Funeral service will be noon Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Mt. Gllead with the Rev. Jim Harris officiating, Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.

He was a retired employee of Carolina Power and Light Company, a member of Blackmer Lodge 127 of Mt. Gilead, and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving are son, Richard J. Harris of Newport Beach, Va.; daughters, Graeme Odum of Wilmington, Weltha McLawhorn of Fayetteville; mother, Mae Warren Coffey of Fairview; brother, Charles Harris of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Mozelle Lawrence of Grandy; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Beryl V. Lierop
SALISBURY - Beryl Van Lierop, 75, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at his home.

Memorial service will be 4 p .m. Thursday at Summersett Funeral Home, Salisbury, with the Rev. Dwight Pyatt and the Rev. Bob Freeman officiating.

He was a native of Yakima, Wash., attended Michigan State University, was an engineer for U.S. Royal, Armstrong, United Fruit and the City of Salisbury. He was a member of the Salisbury Kiwanis Club.

Surviving are wife, Patricia Tetterton Van Lierop; son, Beryl H. Van Lierop of Jackson, Miss.; daughters, Patricia Banker of Asheboro, Elizabeth Laska of Edmond, Okla., Karen Evans of Morgontown, Pa.; brothers, Dr. Pete Van Lierop of Duarte, Calif., John Van Lierop of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Joanne Izenbart, Mich.; seven grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday.

BISCOE - Rachel Faris Hilderbrand, 83, of 116 Mill St., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service has been rescheduled to 2 p.m. Thursday at Page Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Beck and the Rev. Lacy V. Frye officiating. Burial will be in Biscoe Cemetery.

Phillips Funeral Home, Star, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary E. Summers
Mary Elizabeth Summers, 92, formerly of Asheboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Mountain Vista Health Park, Denton.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, with the Rev. Tracy L. Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Christian Church Cemetery, Star.

She was a native of Montgomery County and a hosiery mill worker.

Surviving are sons, Cliff Kern of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Clarence Kern of Montgomery, Mich.; sister, Addie King of Star; 15 grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.

William C. Hodges
William Curtis Hodges, 80, of 742 Vestal Creek Court, Asheboro, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro.

Mary Evelyn Fagge Robbins, 77, of 1319 Winslow Ave., Asheboro, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. A J Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Stokes County, the widow of Earl W. Robbins Jr., a member of First Baptist Church and she had worked in the hosiery industry.

Surviving are daughter, Earlene Conner of Asheboro; sister, Pann Beight of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Traci Williams, 405 Sunrise Ave., Asheboro.

Bearnie B. Spell
SOPHIA - Bearnie Bethel Spell, 86, of 2618 Banner Whitehead Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral, Clinton, with Elder Ralph Piercy officiating. Burial will be in Piney Green Cemetery.

He was a native of Sampson County, a farmer, a painter, and an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Surviving are wife, Fay Spell of the home; daughter, Yvonne Williams of Spanish Fork, Utah; son, Cecil Spell of Bloomfield, N.M.; brother, Earnie Spell of Archdale; stepchildren, Farlow Davis, Jimmy Davis, Jerry Davis, Jane Mullins; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Paul R. Denson
FRANKLINVILLE - Paul Russell Denson, 91, of 414 Main St., died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Kenneth McNeill officiating. Burial will be in First Baptist Church of Franklinville Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Randolph Mills and was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinville.

Surviving is wife, Rama Liles Denson of the home.

The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, other times at the home.

Jerry Crouch
STALEY - Jerry Crouch, 73, of 1867 Soapstone Mountain Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Harry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Richmond Memorial Park.

He was a native of Richmond County and was a delivery man for the Pepsi Company.

Surviving are wife, Vivian Greene Crouch of Staley; sons, Larry Crouch of Staley, Jerry Stanley Crouch of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; daughter, Brenda Knight of Hamlet; brother, Boyce Crouch of Sunset Beach; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Marks Funeral Home, Rockingham, 2-4 p.m. Friday.

Thomas H. Terry
SILER CITY - Thomas Harold Terry, 76, of 7190 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at 6560 Old US 421 North, Staley.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Plainfield Friends Meeting, Siler City, where he was a member, with Ken Thames and Pat Thames officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a clerk of Ministry and Counsel, assistant Sunday School teacher and former Sunday School Superintendent at his church. He was a charter member of Silk Hope Ruritan Club, past president and board member of Randolph Electric Membership Corporation, charter member of the Chatham County Camp of Gideon's International and was chairman of The Living Memorial Bible Plan. He retired from Clapp Brothers Implement and Tractor Company after 31 years.

Surviving are wife, Edith Braxton Terry of Siler City; son, Tommy Terry of Siler City; daughter, Carolyn T. Stanfield of Raleigh; nine grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of the son, 7316 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City.

He was employed with Brown & Root Construction Company, was owner of Diamond-K-Horse Farm, a veteran of the Vietnam conflict and attended Edward Hills Friends Meeting,

Surviving are wife, Linda Clapp Koonce of Bear Creek; daughter, Alecia K. Barker of Spartanburg, S.C.; son, John Clayton Koonce of Spartanburg, S.C.; sister, Karen K. Harris of Danville, Va.; five grandchildren.

Howard S. Lineberry
CLIMAX - Howard Shelton Lineberry, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

He was a native of Randolph County and retired from Randolph Mills.

GREENSBORO - Mildred Bauer Bestgen, 90, of Heritage Greens Retirement Community, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2000.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home, Guilford Chapel, Greensboro.

She was a native of New York, N.Y., a secretary, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of First Presbyterian Church in High Point.

Surviving are husband, Herbert Bestgen of the home; daughter, Joyce B. Allred of Asheboro; one granddaughter .

The family will be at the funeral home following the service on Saturday.

Donald H. Russell Sr.
TROY - Donald Henry Russell Sr., 75, of 1043 Love Joy Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Doug Beadle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines, member of Troy Masonic Lodge #718 AF&AM, Chapter 329 Order of the Eastern Star, and was retired from the U.S. Postal service as a hauling contractor.

Surviving are wife, Frances Hamilton Russell of the home; sons, Donald H. Russell Jr. and Grady Arthur "Art" Russell, J. David Russell, all of Troy; daughter, Cynthia R. Russell of Wadeville; brother, Dale A. Russell of Lenexa, Va.; sisters, Grace McMillian of Troy, Lois R. Tedder of Mt. Gilead; seven grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 6-8 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Mrs. A.J. McMillian, 210 Taft St., Troy.
