She was a native of Liberty, a member of First United Methodist Church and a retired teacher with Asheboro City Schools.
Surviving are son, Bob Brink of Wendell; sister, Virginia L. Beam of Sioux City, Idaho; brother, Robert Johnson of Asheboro; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren.

RANDLEMAN - Thelma Marybelle Adams, 85, of 6979 Walker Mill Road, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at her home.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Ken Day and the Rev. Charles Morton officiating. Burial will be in Level Cross United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Randleman, retired from Bossong Hosiery Mill and a member of Level Cross United Methodist Church.
Surviving is brother, Harvey Adams of Randleman.

He was a native of Moore County, retired from the State ABC system, a member of the Liberty Lions Club and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He was a native of Asheboro, a retired U.S. Marine and was employed as a driver for Central Gas of Asheboro.

THOMASVILLE - The Rev. James "Jim" Samuel Marion, 73, of 1325 Cedar Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, in Thomasville Community General Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Science Hill Friends Meeting in Asheboro, with the Rev. Billy Britt, the Rev. Archie Creed and the Rev. Reece Wall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Surry County, a graduate of Mt. Airy High School, Guilford College and of Southeastern Seminary School in Wake Forest. He was a retired schoolteacher with the Thomasville City Schools and the shop teacher for Thomasville Middle School. He was the former pastor of Oak Hill Friends Church in High Point and Statesville Friends Meeting in Statesville and was currently serving as the pastor of Science Hill Friends Meeting Church in Asheboro.
Surviving are wife, Eloise Briggs Marion of the home; sons, Joseph James Marion of Thomasville, Samuel Ernest Marion of Durham; stepson, Edward Ball of Winston-Salem; sisters, Sue Hicks of Ararat, Faye Reynolds of Siloam; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a retired area foreman with the N.C. Department of Transportation, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Blackmer Masonic Lodge #127, Mt. Gilead.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Tom Williams and the Rev. Scott McInnis officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Grove Cemetery, Vass, with N.C. Rescue Squad honors.
He was a native of Moore County, the widower of Virginia Britt Parker, retired owner-operator of Parker Meat Co. and a retired N.C. Department of Insurance investigator. He was a member of the 1971 Vass World Champion Heavy Rescue Squad Team, member and past captain of the Vass Rescue Squad and member and past commander of the N.C. Association of Rescue Squads and Emergency Medical Services. He was elected coroner of Moore County from 1970-1982, a member of the N.C. Auctioneers Association and an Elder of Lakeview Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are daughter, Barbara P. Danley of Vass; son, Michael D. Parker of Vass; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
