He was a native of Davidson County, a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church, a Korean War U.S. Army veteran and was retired from George C. Brown Co.
Surviving are wife, Margaret Spivey Daniel of the home; daughters, Donna Lee Shepherd of Charlotte, Tisha Gail Finison of Greensboro; son, R. Michael Daniel of Greensboro; brother, Kenneth K. Daniel of St. Paul; five grandchildren.

She was a native of Moore County, a retired textile employee and a member of Bethel Church of God.

She was a native of County Clare, Ireland, and was the widow of Neal Dupree.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bennett Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Timothy Strider, the Rev. Robert Bouldin and Dr. Curtis Barbery officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Chatham County, a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a 1950 graduate of Elon College and received a Masters of Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He was a principal, teacher and coach at Bennett School and retired as the principal at Chatham Central High School. He was an officer of Randolph Telephone board of directors and president of Bennett Volunteer Fire Department board of directors and a member of the Chatham County board of education. He was a deacon, Sunday School superintendent and a teacher at his church and a moderator of Sandy Creek Baptist Association.
Surviving are wife, Allena Grace Phillips of the home; daughter, Vivian Phillips of Bennett; son, John Wayne Phillips of Siler City; brother, Daniel Phillips of Bennett; sisters, Sue Routh, Lucy Pugh, both of Bennett, Gretchen Simmons of Staley.
