DENTON - Ned Hastings Weavil, 76, of 1124 Garner Drive, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Jerusalem United Church of Christ, where he was a member, with the Rev. Raymond Craven officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
He was a native of Davidson County, a retired sheet metal mechanic and had served as an Elder and on the Cemetery committee at his church. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran where he was presented the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
Surviving are wife, Margie S. Weavil of the home; son, Ned H. Weavil of Harrisburg; brothers, Bruce Weavil of High Point, James Weavil of Bermuda Run; sisters, Margaret Payne and Juanita Kelly, both of Winston-Salem, Helen Starnes of High Point, Betty Doub of Lewisville; one grandchild.

CONCORD - Robert Lewis Hawks, 59, of 3569 Cedar Springs Drive, formerly of Montcalm, W. Va., died Monday, April 10, 2000, at his home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W. Va., with the Rev. Randy Wall officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Bluewell, with graveside rites by the Bailey Masonic Lodge #137 AF&AM. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Roberta United Methodist Church in Concord, where he was a member.
He was a native of Duhring, W. Va., was retired from Duke Power Company, was a 1958 graduate of Montcalm High School and attended Concord College. He was U.S. Army veteran, a member of the East Gate Masonic Lodge, the Charlotte Scottish Rites, the Oasis Temple of the Shrine and the Bluefield Moose Lodge.

Elsie Marie Willis Johnson, 83, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Dr. Boyd Stokes and the Rev. Bret Cogan officiating. Burial will be in Asheboro City Cemetery.
She was a native of Maxton, the widow of Nyal Johnson, a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.

GREENSBORO - Myrtle Weatherford Constantine, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro.
A service of Remembrance will be 11 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church, Greensboro, where she was a member. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
She was a former secretary at her church and retired from Sumner School after 12 years as a secretary and treasurer.

He was a member of Gideon International, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was a recipient of the Silver Star and the Purple Heart.

PINEHURST - Rev. William Herman Brady, 83, of Pinehurst Nursing Center, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at the Center.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Prosperity Friends Meeting, Highfalls, with the Rev. David Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Highfalls, a graduate of Duke University and served as a Methodist minister in the Eastern North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church and at Ocracoke Island where he helped build the present church building.
Surviving are wife, Ruth Maness Brady of Pinehurst; son, Dr. William A. Brady of Winston-Salem; daughter, Jane B. Rule of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren.
