MT. GILEAD - Eloise Walton Culp, 82, formerly of Mt. Gilead, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at the Lutheran Home, Albemarle.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Chris Cadenhead officiating.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Gilead and the widow of Crone L. Culp.
Surviving are daughters, Dorothy C. Brannan of Studley, Va., Betty C. Thompson of Matthews, Sandy C. Treece of Mt. Gilead; sister, Betty Lou Pleasants of Charlotte; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

MT. GILEAD - Sara Jean Austin Dorsett, 74, of 517 N. Main St., died Monday, April 17, 2000, at her home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Mt. Gilead, with the Rev. Jim Harris officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.
She was a native of Albemarle, a 1946 graduate of Flora Macdonald College and a past president of the KMR Club of Mt. Gilead. She served on the board of Montgomery County Department of Social Services, was active with the Girl Scouts, taught Sunday School and was on the Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church and in other various offices. On the District Level of the Methodist Church, she served as vice president of the Sanford district, chairperson of Missions for United Methodist Women, taught Mission Studies, and was given an honorary Life Membership. On the state level, she was secretary of Christian Relations-UMW, vice president of United Methodist Women, on the Board of Directors for the General Board of Global Ministries where she was a chairperson and on the Task Force on Hunger.
Surviving are husband, Charles Dorsett of the home; son, Charles Dorsett Jr. of Mt. Gilead; daughter, Carol D. Capehart of Gastonia; brother, Robert Austin Jr. of Wilmington; sister, Louise Saunders of Albemarle; four grandchildren.
The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, 7:30-9 p.m. Tuesday.

She was a native of Montgomery County and a homemaker.

A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, with Monsignor Hendrick officiating. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Summer Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joseph K. Peters officiating.
She was a native of Moore County and had been a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Southern Pines.
Surviving are sisters, May Belle Brewer of Carthage, Maudie Britt of Bridgeton, N.J.

Alfred Franklin Bodsford, 76, of 2968 Indian Springs Road, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Scott Owen officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Montgomery County, retired from Ramseur Interlock after 42 years, was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a recipient of the Bronze Star and a member of the V.F.W.
Surviving are wife, Colene Bunting Bodsford of the home; son, Michael W. Bodsford of Asheboro; daughter, Susan B. Wesley of Winston-Salem; brother, Jimmy Ray Bodsford of Star; sister, Virginia B. Thomas of Star; four grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Charles Wayne Sumner, a member of Smyrna Grove Community Church and a homemaker.

She attended Salem College, was a graduate of the School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was employed by Revco Drug at various locations and was a member of First Moravian Church, Greensboro.
Surviving are husband, James "Jim" Stancil of Jamestown; son, Jonathan Peddycord of Asheboro; parents, J. R. and Melba Richardson of Kernersville; sister, Sue Redmon of Kingsport, Tenn.; one grandson.

He was a graduate of Jordan Matthews High School and was employed with Siler City Mills for 15 years.

She was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of High Point College, a teacher for 45 years in Davidson and Randolph counties, and Asheboro City Schools and was a principal at Tabernacle Elementary School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and of the Philathia Sunday School Class, a member of Randolph Chapter 210 Order of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron.

She was a native of Northford, Conn., the widow of Joseph Fuller Parrish, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with an M.Ed. and was a retired teacher and Social Studies Curriculum coordinator for the Greensboro City Schools.
Surviving are daughter, Barbara Nero of Covington, La.; son, George Parrish of King; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
