Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Union Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ron Copples and the Rev. Charles Spivey officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Randolph County and employed with Lowes Foods in Archdale.

Surviving are wife, Patricia Harris Cox; daughters, Cynthia C. Finley and Scarlett C. Boling, both of Asheboro, Charlotte Cox of the home; sons, Jeffery Cox of Maco, Christopher Cox of Asheboro; sister, Margaret Jo Ely of Randleman; brothers, James Cox of Escondidos, Calif., Richard Cox of Asheboro, Robert Cox of Randleman; 13 grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Shirley E. Paul
Shirley Sue Eades Paul, 64, of 669 Gold Hill Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Asheboro First Church of the Nazarene, with Todd Brown officiating.

She was a native of Randleman, a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Randleman.

Surviving are husband, Richard "R.K." Paul Sr. of the home; son, Rick Paul Jr. of Asheboro; stepmother, Eva Eades of Burlington; sisters, Betty Farlow and Celia Kidd, both of Randleman; three grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 2:30-4 p.m. Monday.

Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

Harold F. Redding
RANDLEMAN - Harold F. Redding, 71, of 5418 Caraway Mt. Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at his home.

Memorial graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County and a self-employed livestock dealer for 50 years.

Surviving are daughters, Barbara R. Beane of Asheboro, Robin S. Redding of the home; son, Gregory H. Redding of Randleman; sister, Elizabeth R. Jennings of Asheboro; three grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.

Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, is in charge of the arrangements.

LIBERTY - Clara Frazier Light, 96, of 472 Butler Road, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Dennis Boone officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of John Light, retired from Hadley Peoples Mfg. Co., Siler City, and was a member of First Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are sons, Wade Light of Liberty, Buddy G. Light and E. Kenneth Light, both of Staley; daughter, Francis Oldham of Simpsonville, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Hassalyne T. Walker
HIGH POINT - Hassalyne Brewer Thomas Walker, 75, of 910 Marlboro St., died Friday, May 12, 2000.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sechrest Funeral Service, High Point, with the Rev. Gene Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of High Point High School, a former owner and manager of Community Credit and retired from Kentucky Finance Co. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church, a member of the Helen Bowman Sunday School Class, a caller for the Sunshine Fellowship Club and a Mobile Meals volunteer.

Surviving are son, Barry Thomas of High Point; brother, Ernest Brewer of Lewisville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8 p.m. Sunday.

Odell A. Loflin
DENTON - Odell Armon Loflin, 83, of A.R. Morris Road, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at Community General Hospital in Thomasville.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton. Burial will be in the Denton Town Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired automobile mechanic with Yadkin Valley Chevrolet Co. after 40 years.

Surviving are wife, Essie Nance Loflin of the home; sons, Armon Loflin of Denton, Roger Loflin of Thomasville; daughter, Nelva Jean Hamilton of Lexington; brother, Elmer Loflin of Denton; sister, Exie Lee Kearns of Asheboro; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

Ollie J. Thompson
TROY - Ollie Johnson Thompson, 84, of 4319 N.C. 109 North, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Eldorado Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. William Culbertson and the Rev. Derald Smith officiating, Burial will be in Stoney Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Gilead.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a graduate of Mt. Gilead High School, a member of the West Montgomery Lions Club and the Montgomery County Cattlemen's Association, serving as treasurer, and was a N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission officer for over 36 years, last stationed at the Uwharrie National Forest.

Surviving are wife, Ina Dunn Thompson of the home; son, Jerry Thompson of Mt. Gilead; brother, Curtis M. Thompson of Wake Forest; two grandsons.

The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

She was a native of Moore County and the retired owner and operator of the Red Bird Cafe.

Surviving are stepsons, Paul Bean, George Bean, and David Bean, all of Steeds.

Arthur Little
MT. GILEAD - Arthur Little, 74, of 3919 N.C. 73 West, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Airy A.M.E. Church, with the Rev. Corey Little officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are son, James Little of Wadesboro; brother, John H. Little of Mt. Gilead; three grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 2 p.m. until the time of the service, other times at the home.

GLENDON - William L. Oldham, 82, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

He was a native of Moore County and retired from Carthage Fabrics after 40 years.

Surviving are wife, Lessie Mae Boyete Oldham; daughters, Betty O. Sapp of Pinehurst, Kay Miller of West Virginia; sister, Suzie Stutts of Robbins; brothers, Jessie Oldham of Glendon, Kelly Oldham of Carthage; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Wayne Cleo Bullins, 75, of 825 Hoover St., Asheboro, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Joe Brown officiating. Burial will be in Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired carpenter.

Surviving are wife, Glennie McKay Bullins of Asheboro; sons, Kenneth Bullins of Mocksville, David Bullins of Level Cross, Mark Bullins of Asheboro; brother, Dennis Bullins of Seagrove; sister, Mary Bulla of Seagrove; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Fred Maurice Lovin, 76, of 1809 Pleasant St., Asheboro, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at Asheboro Health and Rehabilitation.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Edward S. Tapper officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, the widower of Vera Dee Brown Lovin, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a retired teacher who taught at both Seagrove High School and Asheboro High School.

Surviving are daughters, Louretta Swing of Asheboro, Denise Auman of Thompson Falls, Mont.; son, Fred Maurice Lovin Jr. of Asheboro; sister, Katherine Smith of Durham; two grandchildren.

He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Mildred T. Walker and retired from Burlington Industries.

Surviving are daughters, Wanda Gurley of Sophia, Julia Nelson of Oak Island; sons, Milton T. Walker and Dwight C. Walker, both of Sophia, Joe B. Walker of Trinity; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

She was a native of High Point, a graduate of Pembroke University where she majored in music, retired from Chatham County Schools and Chatham Central High School, was a music teacher, a professional entertainer and was active in the Jaycee Jollies.

Surviving is brother, Gene Yow of High Point.

He was a native of Stanly County, a graduate of Denton High School, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and had worked as a plumber.
