Garland Maynard Knott Sr., 78, of 6015 Old N.C. 13, Asheboro, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakhurst Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Greensboro, a graduate of Rankin High School, a retired construction engineer and a World War II and Korea U.S. Army veteran. He was a deacon at his church, in the church youth group and was a Boy Scout leader.
Surviving are wife, Lola Knott of the home; sons, G.M. Knott Jr. of Carlisle Barricks, Pa., Richard E. Knott of Raleigh, Ronn Knott of Cary; sisters, Violet Stout and Nellie Hicks, both of Greensboro; brothers, John Knott of Greensboro, Mitchell Doyle of Georgia; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Annie Frye Way, 85, of 2744 Way Road, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty. Burial will be in Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.
She was a native of Stokes County, the widow of Seth "Pete" Way, a retired textile worker and attended Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
Surviving are sisters, Louvenia Crouse of Snow Camp, Elsie Layton of Liberty, Katrine Sardenia of Pompano Beach, Fla., Onita Mitchell of Montclair Va.; brothers, Jim Frye of Graham, William Frye, Rick Frye, and Otha Frye, all of Liberty, Homer Frye of Mebane.

TROY - Ruby Shaw Fountain, 81, of 192 Lakemont Road, New London, formerly of Troy, died Monday, May 15, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Troy, where she was a member, with the Rev. Dexter Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Uwharrie United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County and former owner/operator of Badin Lake Steakhouse.
Surviving are sons, Jimmy Fountain of High Point, Jerry Fountain of Troy; sisters, Maxine Faircloth of Goldbane, Va., Mozelle Ward of Hampton, Va.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

HAVELOCK - James Thomas Mauldin, 65, of 305 Little John Lane, formerly of Rockingham, died Monday, May 15, 2000, at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.

He was a native of Richmond County and a supervisor with Burlington Industries.

RAMSEUR - William Boyd Poole, 83, of 5593 N.C. 22-42, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Concord United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ron Wachs officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a Randolph County native and retired from Ramseur Interlock.

MT. GILEAD - Mamie Currie Misenheimer, 102, formerly of 400 W. Allenton St., died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Springwood Care Center, Winston-Salem.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Gilead, where she was the oldest member, with the Rev. Bob Clanton officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.
She was a native of Richmond County, the widow of James Ralph Misenheimer, a former member of the Mt. Gilead Research Club, a former member of the Mt. Gilead Senior Citizens and retired from Belks Department Store.
Surviving are son, James C. Misenheimer of Winston-Salem; daughter, Julia M. Winfree of Wadesboro; sister, Elizabeth Andrews of Mt. Gilead; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The family will see friends immediately after the service at Sharon Cemetery.

He was a California native, a U.S. Navy veteran, a former Arizona State Search and Rescue coordinator and a reserve officer with the Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff's Office.

Hornecker of Lapuente, Calif.; daughters, Kathy Hornecker, Vickie Chambers, Jennifer Lara, Vickie Pearce Parks and Amy Dunbar; sons, Donnie Hornecker, Jackie Pearce and Scott Pearce; sisters, Dorothy Welsh of Tempe, Ariz., and Annamae McNatt of Lapuente, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
