He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., a member of the National Guard, owner/operator of L. Negrin and Sons in Asheboro and Robbins, and was of the Jewish faith.
Surviving are wife, Paulette A. Negrin of the home; sons, Layne Negrin of Oregon House, Calif., Chris Toriello of Asheboro; brothers, Isadore Negrin of Tamarac, Fla., Samuel Negrin of Long Island, N.Y.; two grandchildren.

She was a native of Rockingham County, retired from Acme McCrary and was of the Baptist faith.

LIBERTY - James Garnett Thompson, 31, of 2562 Low Bridge Road, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial will be in Oakley Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Tacoma Park, Md., employed as a sheet rock contractor and was an assistant coach of the Ramseur Athletic Association.

Funeral service was 11 a.m. Friday at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Street Chapel, Greensboro. Burial was in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Stokesdale.
He was a graduate of Bethany High School, employed with Julian C. Scruggs and Co. of Nashville, Tenn., was president of the Carolina/Virginia Ramblers, co-owner of the Reflections on the Court Salon, part owner of Service and Marketing Works and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are wife, Dale B. Middleton of the home; son, Travis Wayne Middleton of Greensboro; daughters, Monica Middleton of Lakewood, Colo., Adrian M. Bullock and Michelle B. Vaden, both of Greensboro; sister, Ruth M. Garrison of Stokesdale; two grandchildren.

He was a native of Montgomery County, the widower of Lucille Cranford Cranford, and had been employed in sales and delivery with Central Lumber Company.
