ASHEBORO - Dora Faye Clark Williamson, 53, of 310 Virginia Ave., Asheboro, died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, Ramseur, with the Rev. Joe Brown officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Knoll Cemetery.

She was a Randolph County native and was employed at Asheboro Hosiery.

Surviving are sons, Donald L. Clark and Ronald W. Clark, both of Asheboro; daughter, Donna C. Coble of Asheboro; mother, Flora M. Hurley of Asheboro; brothers, Sam Clark of Randleman and Dewey Hurley of Lexington; sisters, Kay McDowell and Mary Ann Beane, both of Asheboro and Judy Sumner of Durham; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Saturday.

Hazel W. Kuhn
DENTON - Hazel Johnson Wright Kuhn, 84, of Britthaven of Davidson and formerly of Denton, died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Britthaven.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church, Denton, with the Rev. Joe Collins officiating. Burial will be Wednesday in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.

She was a Guilford County native, a homemaker, the widow of George W.S. Kuhn Jr., a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church of Thomasville and an associate member of Central United Methodist Church of Denton.

Surviving are sons, Robert C. Kuhn of High Point and George W.S. Kuhn of Vienna, Va.; brother, Richard "Dick" Wright of High Point; sister, Marcella Yates of Denton; four grandchildren.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

Colleen H. Dorsett
ASHEBORO - Colleen May Summers Hicks Dorsett, 68, of 1278 Mountain View Drive, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with the Rev. Stuart White officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was a Guilford County native, a member of the Methodist faith, had been employed at J & A Foam in Trinity, and was the widow of Roland Hill Hicks Sr. and James D. Dorsett Sr.

Surviving are daughters, Janine Ward and Gail Hicks, both of Thomasville; sons, Roland "Speedy" Hicks Jr., Edward Lee Hicks and Christopher L. Hicks, all of Asheboro, and Jimmie Dorsett Jr. of Siler City; sisters, Edith Michaux and Marie Stutts, both of Greensboro and Jean Fogleman of Emerald; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Cumby Family Funeral Service 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

William G. Rightsell Sr.
GOLDSTON - William Garrett "Bill" Rightsell Sr., 76, of 4198 Bonlee Carbonton Road, Goldston, died Friday, July 14, 2000, in Chatham Hospital, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Ramseur, with the Rev. Darrell Williams officiating. Burial will be in Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Phillips Trucking Co. and a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife, Clara (Becky) Rightsell; son, William Garrett Rightsell Jr. of Asheboro; stepson, Ricky Burgess of Ramseur; sister, Mary Lois Wright of Ramseur; one grandson; one stepgrandson.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Sunday and other times at the home. The family will be at the home of Jennifer and Randy Macon, 6378 Foushee Road, Ramseur, following the service.

CLAYTON - Alma Coltrain Jones, 87, died Friday, July 14, 2000.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel in Clayton. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery.

McLaurin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Herbert N. Beavers Jr.
SILER CITY - Herbert Newton Beavers Jr., 75, of 17671 N.C. 902, Bear Creek, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Bear Creek, with the Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Goldston.

He was a Chatham County native, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired farmer.

Surviving are wife, Melba Stinson Beavers of Bear Creek; daughter, Jennie Mae B. Stewart of Siler City; sons, Herbert Newton Beavers III of Bear Creek and Henry Chester Beavers of Raleigh; brothers, William W. Beavers of Goldston, Hal R. Beavers of Bear Creek and Cecil L. Beavers of Siler City; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

William H. Cole
LEXINGTON - William Howard Cole, 61, of 1139 Old N.C. 109, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with the Rev. Brian Workman officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

He was a native of High Point and employed by Carson's Furniture Co. in Archdale.

Surviving are wife, Rachel Hedrick Cole of the home; sons, William Steven Cole and Terry Allen Cole, both of Lexington; brothers, Roy Cole of High Point and Jimmy Cole of Greer, S.C.; sister, Maxine Baker of Trinity; five grandchildren.

The family was at Cumby Family Funeral Home 7-8:30 Saturday. They will be other times at the home of Tammy Eddinger, 1371 Hill Road, Lexington.

Doris A. Callicutt
ASHEBORO - Doris Ann Allred Callicutt, 65, of 1517 Timberlane Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at her home.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with the Rev. Gene Schenck officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, worked for Acme-McCrary and General Electric in Asheboro and was a member of Neighbor's Grove Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are son, Jerry Eugene Callicutt of Asheboro; daughter, Sharon Elaine Williamson of Star; brothers, David Allred of Robbins and T.E. Allred of Asheboro; sisters, Reva Shaw of Randleman and Mary Alice Smith of Franklinville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-8 p.m. Monday.

Billie U. Miller
ASHEBORO - Billie Upchurch Miller, 77, of 818 Worth St., Asheboro, died Saturday, July 15, 2000.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Asheboro, where she was a member. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

A native of Oxford, she was the widow of G. Edward Miller.

She was a graduate of Woman's College, now the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a former chemist for E.I. Dupont de Nemours Co. in Richmond, Va., chaplain of the Andrew Balfour Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a Sunday school teacher and a leader of the Girl's Auxiliary at her church, and was active in the Woman's Missionary Union.

Surviving are sons, Michael Collins Miller of Asheboro and Edward Upchurch Miller of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Eleanor Carroll Miller of Arlington, Va., Frances Havens Miller-Smith of Staten Island, N.Y., and Maria Garnet Miller of Jackson, Wyo.; six grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Monday.

James S. Trotter
ASHEBORO - James Stewart Trotter, 25, of 342 W. Ward St., Asheboro, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with the Rev. Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial will be in High Pine Wesleyan Church Cemetery.

He was born in Greensboro and raised in Randolph County where he attended Farmer School and Asheboro High School. He was a former employee of Realistic Hosiery and worked at P & P Chair Co.

Surviving are mother, Donita Trotter of Asheboro; father, Wilbur Trotter of Asheboro; grandmother, Ann M. Barker of Asheboro.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Monday and other times at the home of Donita Trotter, 1117 Thoroughbred Road, Asheboro.

Clara L. Gray
TROY - Clara Lee Gray, 75, of 109 Highland Ave., Mt. Gilead, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sharon Cemetery, Mt. Gilead, with the Rev. Roger Rhodes and the Rev. Kent Little officiating.

She was a native of Montgomery County, a homemaker, the widow of Claude R. Gray Sr. and a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead.

Surviving are daughters, Loretta Lassiter and Carol Kearns, both of Troy; sister, Monnie Lou Leffler of Mt. Gilead; brother, James A. Hunsucker of Mt. Gilead; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Johnny Cole
FAYETTEVILLE - Johnny Cole, 20, of 2528 McNeill Circle, Fayetteville, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lafayette Baptist Church, with the Rev. Brian Lee officiating.

He was a graduate of New Hope Baptist Academy, a student at Fayetteville Community College and an organ donor.

Surviving are parents, David and Kathryn Cole of the home; brother, Bryan D. Cole of Fayetteville; sister, Kristin A. Cole of the home; paternal grandmother, Frances Fowler of Anderson, S.C.; maternal grandparents, the Rev. Stephen and Bonnie Davenport of Asheboro.

The family will be at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, Fayetteville, 7-8:30 p.m. Monday.

Pernie P. Walters
LANCASTER, S.C. - Pernie Lee Parker Walters, 86, of 2776 Pink Plyler Road, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Camp Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Cecil Johnson and the Rev. Eddie Burris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Lancaster County, a retired manager for Mi-Sa Fabric Shoppe, active with the Missions and served as director of the Junior Department of her church and the widow of Ira Lee Walters.

Surviving are son, William Lee Walters of the home; daughters, Mrs. Norman (Peggy) Baker and Sarah Ellen Wilson, both of Lancaster, and Louise McIntyre of Troy; brothers, William Archie Parker and David Richard Parker, both of Lancaster; sisters, Lucille Steele and Lorraine Williams, both of Lancaster, and Maggie Lou Baker of Heath Springs; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

The family was at Hartley Funeral Home, Lancaster, S.C., 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery, Liberty. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Asheboro, with the Rev. Russell Ward and the Rev. Joe Casteel officiating.

Surviving are daughters, Diana Williams of Siler City, Susan Williams of Jamestown; sisters, Henrietta Menius of Asheboro, Rachael Hardin of Liberty.

RAMSEUR - Ernest Lee Alston, 84, of 641 Crestwick Road, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakland Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Lawrence Gilmore officiating. Burial will be in Oakland/McCrary Cemetery in Ramseur.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired employee of Ramseur Interlock, a World War II veteran and was a member of the Deacon Board, a Sunday School superintendent and a member of the Adult Choir at his church.

Surviving are wife, Ruth Parks Alston of the home; daughters, Hollis Glover of Ramseur, Linda Smith of Sanford; sisters, Lelia Kenner and Alease Oliver, both of Greensboro, Mary E. Alston of Durham; brother, Fletcher Alston of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the service.

GREENSBORO - Martin Luther Efird, 85, of Guilford HealthCare Center, Greensboro, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, NC

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakley Baptist Church Cemetery, Siler City, with the Rev. Robert A. Griffith officiating.

He was a native of Iredell County, farmed in Siler City and had worked at Airdex in Florida as a rebuilder of airplane engines and was retired from the cabinet making business.

Surviving are son, Linuel Efird of Siler City; daughters, Anna Wray and Donna Elmore, both of Greensboro, Moree Poe of Siler City, Sandra Allen of Ore City, Texas, Betty Johnson of Cary; sister, Minnie Lee Buttry of Greensboro; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of the son, 403 W. Tenth St., Siler City.

CARTHAGE - Ronald Eugene Sapp, 84, of 154 Tillman Road, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at SunBridge Care Facilities, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cool Springs United Methodist Church, Carthage, where he was a member, with the Rev. Gerald Peterson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Forsyth County, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired maintenance supervisor with Performance Cast Parts, Sanford.

Surviving are wife, Ruth Phillips Sapp of Carthage; son, Michael B. Sapp of Mebane; daughters, Pamela S. Whitaker and Kimberly S. Coyle, both of Carthage; sister, Phyllis S. Branch of Lexington; brother, Phillip Newsom of High Point; stepfather, Paul Newsom of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Fredrick T. Mills
ASHEVILLE - Fredrick Terry Mills, 79, of 1314 Tunnel Road, died Sunday, July 16, 2000 at the V.A. Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Enka, with Dr. Doug Fairbanks officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites by the Buncombe County Veterans' Memorial Team.

He was a native of Moundville, Ala., retired from Hardees after 11 years, and was a World War II and Korean Conflict U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Groce United Methodist Church of Asheville, a member of VFW Post 891, the Fleet Reserve Association and the Francy Burdett Post #70.

Surviving are wife, Hazel Mills; sons, Larry Y. Mills of Asheboro, Robert A. Mills of Beaufort, S.C., Howard W. Mills of Concord, S.C.; daughter, Terri Lynn Mills of Asheville; brother, Ben Allen Mills of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sisters, Edith Culpepper and Ruth Culpepper, both of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mary Huttleson of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.

Herbert P. Whitesell
RANDLEMAN - Herbert Paul Whitesell, 71, of 9349 Walker Mill Road, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at his home.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Randolph Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ben Hurley officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Butler Trailer Sales, was a retired dairy farmer, a horse and buggy driver and sold tomatoes at Piedmont Triad Farmers' Market.

Surviving are wife, Mildred Luck Whitesell of Randleman; daughter, Joyce W. Lanier of Jacksonville; sisters, Anna Bell Butker of Greensboro, Edna French of Sophia, Eloise Lawrence of Asheboro; brothers, James Whitesell of Archdale, Robert Lee Whitesell of Greensboro; two grandsons.

There will be no visitation.

Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, is in charge of the arrangements.
