She was a native of Montgomery County, a secretary at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, and a paramedic.
Surviving are husband, Eddie C. Brewer Jr. of Biscoe; daughter, Debbie Hare of Robbins; sister, Peggy Anne McKenzie of Star; two grandchildren.

STAR - Glennie Irvin Myrick, 91, of 911 Brower Mill Road, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Pinelake Health & Rehabilitation.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Billy Reynolds and the Rev. Lowell Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Moore County, a retired furniture employee, a farmer and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are wife, Aretta Wilson Myrick of the home; daughters, Shirley Sheffield of Biscoe, Bonnie Brown of Eagle Springs, Dora Safrit of Mt. Gilead; sons, Herman Myrick of Charlotte, Eugene Myrick of Biscoe, Richard Myrick of Ramseur, Johnny Myrick of Seagrove; brother, Ralph Myrick of Star; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

ROBBINS - Benjamin Franklin Cockman, 68, of 419 Lindale Drive, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Light Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ralph Voncannon, the Rev. Russell Craddock, the Rev. Mack Beck and the Rev. Fred Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.
He was a native of Moore County and a self-employed house painter.

Rouse of Carthage; stepdaughter, Ann Frazier of Lake City, Fla.; sons, Frankie Cockman and Mike Marcus, both of Robbins; brother, Roland Cockman of Robbins; sisters, Donna C. Beck of Asheboro, Bell C. Pope and Kathleen C. Craddock, both of Robbins; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Karel Furniture Co.

She was a native of Randolph County, retired from Eastern Airlines after 32 years, and had worked for Continental Airlines for 10 years.

He was a native of Randolph County, a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from Nixon Reynolds.

HIGH POINT - Clementina "Toni" Coviello McCarter, 91, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Glen L. Myers and the Rev Lloyd G. Hunsucker officiating. Entombment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.
She was a native of Revere, Mass., the widow of William McCarter, a member of the Order of Eastern Star #106 in High Point, where she was a past matron, and she was a past president of the High Point Woman's Club.
Surviving are daughter, Bobbie Soucy Ritch of Liberty; brothers, Louis Coviello of Revere, Mass., Albert Coviello of Peabody, Mass.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

LIBERTY - John Wilbert Shepard Jr., 72, of 2678 N.C. 62 East, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Union United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. David Cash, the Rev. Steve Pichaske and the Rev. Banks Shepherd officiating.
He was a native of Guilford County, employed for 41 years with the Guilford County Schools' Transportation Department, was a member of the Julian Fire Department Board of Directors and was a member of the Methodist Men.
Surviving are wife, Catherine Lambert Shepard of the home; daughter, Von S. Shoffner of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sons, John Timothy Shepard and Henry Ross Shepard, both of Liberty; sisters, Dorothy Lowe and Willa Williams, both of Liberty; six grandchildren.

He was a native of Davidson County, a member of First Baptist Church and had worked with Aluminum Company of America for over 40 years as operator and supervisor of the High Rock Power Plant.
Surviving are wife, Pride Skeen Gallimore of the home; sons, Robert Darrell Gallimore of Advance, Phillip R. Gallimore of St. Louis, Mo.; half brother, Rondall Gallimore of Denton; sisters, Cola Presnell of Asheboro, Lala Cates of High Point; half sister, Doris Pierce of Denton; four grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Randleman, with the Rev. James Denny officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County, formerly attended Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church and First Wesleyan in Randleman and was a 1970 graduate of Randleman High School.
Surviving are mother, Mary R. Fogleman of Randleman; father, Bud Fogleman of Randleman; brother, David M. Fogleman Jr. of Asheboro; sisters, Susan F. Mosley of Level Cross, Mary Ann Swaim of Randleman; grandmother, Mary Reitzel of Asheboro.

LEXINGTON - Lola Matilda Brown Hunt Hedgecock, 84, of 200 Brian Lane, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at Brian Center Nursing Care, Lexington.

She was a native of Forsyth County, a homemaker and a member of Abbot's Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons, Walter Hunt of Randleman, Charles Hunt of Forest City, James Hunt of Texas; sister, Lois Conklin of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
The family will be at the home of Walter Hunt, 228 N. Main St., Randleman and at the home of granddaughter, Cathy Davis, 122 Brookview Drive, Winston-Salem.

WESTMOORE - Lucille Harris Owen, 85, of 2199 N.C. 705 South, Seagrove, formerly of Cross Road Retirement Center, Asheboro, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Elise Presbyterian Church, Robbins, where she was a member, with Dr. Jerry Vuncannon and Clarence Bailey officiating. Burial will be at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Seagrove.
She was a native of Candor, the widow of Ben Owen Sr., was a graduate of East Carolina Teachers' College (ECU) and Greensboro Women's College (UNCG) and a grade school teacher for 42 years in Seagrove, Westmoore and Robbins. She was an Elder, Sunday School teacher of Isabel McLeod Class, and a WOC Life Member at Elise Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Alfred Moore DAR Chapter where she served as Chapter Regent and held many state chairmanships, she was president of the Sir Walter Chapter of the Colonial Dames XVII Century and a member of the Daughters of the American Colonies. She was a chairman of the Grants Committee of the Public School Foundation of Moore County, a founder of the Robbins Public Library and an organizer of the first Beta Club in Moore County. She was a leader and advocate for a strong arts program in the schools, community and state. She was a member of the Moore County Arts Council, the Historical Society, promoted the N.C. Museum of History and was a charter member of the Sandhills Association of University Women. She traveled to Pakistan and China as a part of a state-sponsored cultural exchange project and in 1985, was honored as a Distinguished Citizen by the Robbins Area Civic Organization.
Surviving are son, Benjamin Wade Owen Jr. of Seagrove; daughter, Jane O. Barbot of Raleigh; sister, Ruth Gruber of Raleigh; brothers, Ralph Harris of Rockingham, Max Harris of Fuquay-Varina; two grandsons.
