Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Mausoleum at Monte Vista Burial Park, Johnson City, Tenn. A Praise service will be 6 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church, Johnson City, Tenn., where she was a member, with Dr. Mike Shannon and Dr. Don Jeanes officiating.

She was a native of Robbins, a member of the Emmaus Community organization and a retired employee of Watauga Orthopedics.

Surviving are husband, Bo Deaton of the home; daughter, Kim Hyatt of Elizabethton, Tenn.; son, Eric Deaton of Johnson City, Tenn.; mother, Ruth Lyndon of Robbins; brother, Larry Lyndon of Robbins; sisters, Diane Yow of Seagrove, Wyanne Caviness of Bennett; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Appalachian Funeral Home, Johnson City, Tenn., 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Eric Deaton, 903 Forest Ave., Johnson City.

Charles R. Garner
SEAGROVE - Charles Ray Garner, 54, of 1133 Yow Road, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Duke Medical Center, Durham.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Seagrove United Church of Christ, with the Rev. I. Kelly Shiflett officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Baptist Church cemetery near Bennett.

He was a native of Moore County and a graduate of Campbell University. He attended Seagrove United Church of Christ, was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where he was the music director for 17 years, and was a music teacher in the Moore County School system.

Surviving are wife, Joyce Comer Garner of the home; son, Chris Garner of Robbins; daughters, Teresa G. Dunn of Star, Natalie G. McDonald of Seagrove; sister, Linda G. Redding of Franklinville; four grandchildren.

The family will be at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, 6-9 p.m. Saturday, and other times at the home of Chris Garner, 1064 Caviness Town Road, Robbins.

Annie M. Strickland
RANDLEMAN - Annie Minor Strickland, 69, of 3277 Flynt Road, Liberty, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro, with the Rev. Bill Harwell officiating.

She was a native of Randleman, a homemaker and the widow of James R. Strickland.

Surviving are daughters, Brenda Berry of Gibsonville and Alice Bryant of Liberty; sons, James B. Strickland of Randleman and Thomas E. Strickland of Asheboro; stepdaughter, Shelby Marsh of Sophia; stepsons, James R. Strickland Jr. of Randleman, Steve Strickland and Thomas "Big Tommy" Strickland, both of Augusta, Ga.; sister, Bobbie Parks of Randleman; brother, Howard Minor of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, 7-9 p.m. Sunday and other times at the home.

RANDLEMAN - Jaylon Lee Hancock, infant son of Katherine Leigh Huffman and Benjamin Scott Hancock, 700 High Point St., Randleman, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with the Rev. Joe Peterson officiating.

Surviving other than the parents are half sister, Halie Elizabeth Hancock of the home; grandmothers, Melissa Kellam and Kristine Williams, both of Randleman; grandfather, Mark Kellam Sr. of Randleman; grandparents, Grover and Vickie Hancock of Franklinville; great-grandmother, Helen Williams of Pleasant Garden; great-grandparents, Frank and Peggy Millikan and Tiffany and Ina Williams, all of Randleman, and George and Ida Groce of Franklinville; great-great-grandmother, Martha York of Pleasant Garden.

She was a native of Randolph County and a former employee of both Caraway Furniture and N.C. Lumber Company Frame Division.

Surviving are mother, Dorothy H. Thompson of Asheboro; sisters, Margaret R. Hughes of the home, Grace Humble of Greensboro and Virginia Lilly of Marietta, Ohio.

GREENSBORO - Nancy Margaret Hackett Bryant, 68, of 1908 N. Holden Road, Greensboro, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service Chapel, Greensboro, with the Rev. Michael J. Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County and a homemaker.

DENTON - Lillian Russell Sexton, 88, of Bryon Street, Denton, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Denton, with the Rev. Joseph Collins and the Rev. Robert Clanton officiating. Burial will be in Denton Town Cemetery.

She was a Randolph County native, a graduate of Denton High School and retired from Taylor Clothing Store. She was a member of the Young at Heart Club and the Young at Heart Rhythm Band. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women Daytime Circle and a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 3-5 p.m. Sunday.

Boyd R. Beveridge
STAR - Boyd Rymer Beveridge, 77, of 1501 Zion Church Road, Concord, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Northeast Medical Center.

Graveside service will be 5 p.m. Monday at Leach Cemetery on Dameron Street, Star, with his son, George L. Beveridge III, officiating.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Surviving are sons, Boyd W. Beveridge of Conyers, Ga., Bruce G. Beveridge of Morganton and George L. Beveridge III of Rutherfordton; daughters, Susan L. Deviney of Concord, Jean E. Jewell of Dyer, Tenn., Barbara A. Simmons of Conyers, Ga. and Blyss A. Beveridge of Kissimmee, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Star, 2-4:30 p.m. Monday.

Robert W. Neese
LIBERTY- Robert William Neese, 76, of 5617 Lake Juno Road, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Hospital, Greensboro.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bryan Fox officiating.

He was a native of Alamance County, a graduate of Elon College and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired from Jefferson Pilot Insurance Co. and was the widower of Martha W. Neese.

Surviving are daughter, Leslie Neese Bromer of Bowie, Md.; son, Robert W. Neese of Raleigh; brother, Leroy H. Neese of Elon College; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Paul F. Barber
CARTHAGE - Paul F. Barber, 57, of 5687 Glendon-Carthage Road, died Saturday, July 29, 2000.

Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, with the Rev. Jesse R. Mansfield officiating.

He was a native of Moore County, a graduate of Carthage High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967. He was a retired assistant fire chief from Fort Bragg, a volunteer in the Carthage Fire Department, and immediate past president of the Sandhills Pointing Breeds Hunt Club.

Surviving are wife, Dana Koshak Barber; sons, Paul James Barber of Cameron and Keith Edward Barber of Carthage; parents, Laverne and Dorothy Barber of Carthage; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Surviving are husband, Ricky Newsom; daughters, Joyce Ann Newsom, Angela Darlene Newsom, both of Seagrove; mother, Joyce M. Spivey of Asheboro; father, Darrell Loach Spivey of Seagrove; brothers, James Clinton Spivey of Asheboro, William Lee Spivey of Seagrove.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Roland Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will be in Staley Cemetery.

She was a native of Chester, Va., a homemaker and a member of Ramseur Wesleyan Church.

Leroy C. Inman
GREENSBORO - Leroy Curtiss Inman, 86, of Greensboro, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

He was a native of Greensboro, the widower of Ann Welborn Inman, an Elder at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel and was retired from Blue Bell/Wrangler Co. after more than 40 years.

Surviving are wife, Margaret C. Inman of the home; son, Donald C. Inman of Greensboro; stepdaughters, Pat Hurley of Asheboro, Karen Bullock of Barnsville, Susan Miller of Romney, W.Va., Lynne Brown of Wilmington; brothers, Charles Inman of Jacksonville, Fla., J.R. Inman of Pensacola, Fla., Samuel W. Inman of Greensboro; sister, Eva Smith of Mathews; 13 stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was a native of Montgomery County, the widow of James Preston Holder, a member of Center Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughters, Lois Craven of Ellerbe, Audrey Foster of Concord, Frances Garner of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister, Eula Yarboro of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 1 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Oliver R. Lambert
ROBBINS - Oliver Reid Lambert, 66, of 152 Lambert Road, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smyrna United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Joseph Forbes and the Rev. Bob Lamb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County, a member of the Adult Sunday School Class at his church, was in car sales for over 42 years where he served as manager of Nance Chevrolet, Asheboro, and as a salesperson at Wayne Thomas Chevrolet, Asheboro. He had served on the School Board at Westmoore School and North Moore High School and was a life member of Woodmen of the World.

Surviving are wife, Allene Brewer Lambert; son, Vance R. Lambert of Robbins; sister, Canary L. Hunsucker of Robbins; brother, Boyd L. Lambert of Robbins; grandsons.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home.

She was a native of Chatham County, the widow of Alfred N. Watkins and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughters, Temple W. Oldham of Bear Creek, Odessa W. Foushee of Pittsboro; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Temple W. Oldham, 438 Barker Road, Bear Creek.
