Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Darrel Kroeze officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a member of Glennwood Friends Meeting of Greensboro, the widow of James Edwards and a member of the Lelia Dunman Circle.
Surviving are daughter, Frances Millis of Greensboro; son, Ronald Edwards of Newport; sisters, Dorothy Crowther of Coventry, R.I., Florence Lemoine of Warwick, R. STALEY - Rodney Jerome Brooks, 41, of 2745 Olivers Chapel Road, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Olivers Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Wayne Brown and the Rev. Judy Bowden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County.

She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of both Denver F. Hicks and Duncan Welch, was retired from Kellwood Mfg. Co., Siler City, and was a member of Siler City Chapel.
Surviving are daughter, Doris W. Justice of Siler City; son, Denver Hicks of Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers, George Coble of Pleasant Garden, J.H. Coble of Julian; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons.

CARTHAGE - Ray L. Taylor Sr., 66, of Carthage, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at his home.

He was a native of Moore County and a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hubbard Family Cemetery, Meadows of Dan, Va., with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Military rites will be by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
He was a native of Patrick County, Va., a World War II U.S. Army veteran where he was awarded the Silver Star and was retired from United Elastic in Stuart, Va., after 30 years.

She was a native of Randolph County, retired from international Monetary Fund where she worked as a secretary, was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Franklinville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sisters, Shirley Lyle of Raleigh, Vann Bulla of Asheboro, Juanita Wallace and Annette Williams, both of Franklinville.
The family will be at the graveside 30 minutes prior to the service, other times the home of Sue Saunders, 167 Wallace St., Franklinville.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from the Asheboro Fire Department, was a member of Masonic Lodge #699 in Asheboro and the Oasis Temple in Charlotte, was a 32nd degree Mason and served in the National Guard for 12 years.

She was a native of Richmond County, the widow of John C. "Gene" Broadaway, a primary school teacher and a member of Concord United Methodist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Dorothy B. Camp of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Montgomery County, a member of Gatewood Station A.M.E. Zion Church, Morven, where she was on the Usher Board, choir, kitchen committee and the Helping Hands Club. She was a graduate of Peabody Academy in Troy and was formerly employed with West Knitting Corp., Wadesboro.
Surviving are husband, McKinley Tillman of the home; sister, Della Mae Roper Steele of Mt. Gilead; foster sisters, Linda Faye Pemberton of Mt. Gilead, Benetta Simon of Wadesboro; four stepdaughters; one stepson.

He was a native of Lenior County, a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II and a retired colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a retired financial officer with the City of Asheboro, a former elder in his church and a former Paul Harris Fellow of the Asheboro Rotary Club.
Surviving are wife, Lois Brown Taylor of Asheboro; brother, Alfred Perry Taylor of Whiteford, Md.; sister, Barbara Taylor Wilson of Knoxville, Tenn.
