Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with the Rev. Bill V. Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.
He was a Virginia native, a residential builder and landscaper.
Surviving are son, Brian Justice of High Point; daughter, Danielle Justice of High Point; mother and stepfather, Mary and Billy Rumple of Thomasville; sisters, Janet Tiller of Fredricksburg, Va., Mary (Becky) Bustamante of Sophia and Susan Owens of Asheboro; brother, Timmy Rumple of Thomasville.

RANDLEMAN - Edith Watford Routh, 83, of 4110 Brookwood Acres Drive, Randleman, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Randolph Memorial Park, with the Rev. David Hamlyn officiating.
She was a Randolph County native, a homemaker, a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Thomasville, and attended Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church in Randleman.
Surviving are husband, Allen "Jake" Routh of Randleman; daughter, Denise L. Bondurant of Asheboro; son, Larry A. Routh of Baltimore, Md.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

SILER CITY - Mattie Scotton Dowd, 84, of 411 Greenhill Drive, Siler City, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Highland House of Fayetteville.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Loves Creek Baptist Church, Siler City, where she was a member, with the Rev. Roy Helms and Dr. Conrad Glass officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.
She was a native of Randolph County, retired from A.J. Schnierson & Sons, Siler City, and a member of Eastern Star Siler City Chapter No. 9.
Surviving are husband, Charlie S. Dowd of Siler City; daughters, Gaynelle S. Glass of Raleigh and Alyce S. Taylor of Fayetteville; sister, Novia Jordan of Siler City; four grandchildren.

YANCEYVILLE - Ola Brann Briggs, 91, of 123 Briggs Road, Leasburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Chapel Hill Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Beulah Baptist Church, U.S. 158 East, Yanceyville, where she was a member, with the Rev. Doug Jones and the Rev. Joe Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Leasburg Community Cemetery.
She was a Person County native, a homemaker and the widow of W.R. Briggs.
Surviving are daughters, Loretta Roberson of Edenton, Jenny Clark of Wilson, Kaye Rich of Asheboro and Faye Briggs of Virginia Beach, Va.; sons, Will Briggs, Charles Briggs, Larry Briggs and Ricky Briggs, all of Leasburg; sisters, Onie Idol and Lottie Oakes, both of Greensboro, Odell Denny and Mebane Briggs, both of Leasburg, Clara May of McLeansville, Lorene Sykes of Florida and Orene Brann of Semora; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
The family was at Beulah Baptist Church, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, and other times will be at the home.

RANDLEMAN - Deana Hope Edwards, infant daughter of James Odell Edwards and Betty Mae Reeves Edwards of Randleman, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Crab Creek Cemetery in Allegheny County, with the Rev. Fred Jennings, pastor Marvin Patterson and elder Edwin Hawks officiating.
Surviving in addition to the parents are maternal grandmother, Wilda Rose Reeves of Galax, Va.; paternal grandfather, Van Olen Edwards of Galax, Va.

ASHEBORO - Ralph Scarboro Andrews, 78, of 520 Cliff Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at his home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Boyd Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Mt. Gilead, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and was retired from B.B. Walker Company as Vice President of Retail.
Surviving are wife, Lucille D. Andrews; daughters, Debra Dorsett of Midlothian, Va., Donna Andrews of Granite Falls; sons, Kenneth Andrews of Little Rock, Ark., Steve Andrews of Asheboro; four grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Joseph Morris Davis, 75, of 533 Inwood Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. W. Russell Ward Jr. officiating.
He was a native of Sturgis, Ky., an Eagle Scout, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a 1949 graduate of the University of Denver. He worked as an accountant for General Electric in Louisville, Ky., for 12 years and for G.E. and Black and Decker in Asheboro for 27 years and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Our Daily Bread.
Surviving are wife, Oma Jeanne Winslow Davis; daughter, Julie D. Viconovic of Durham; son, Stephen Davis of Winston-Salem; sister, Eloise D. Becker of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren.
The family will be at the church following the service.

He was a native of Stanly County, had worked for Burlington Industries, attended Summerville Baptist Church and he was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

GOLDSTON - H. Billy Fields, 60, of 234 Hillcrest Ave., died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.

He was a native of Chatham County, was employed with the Chatham County Schools for 12 years and was formerly with Miller Heating & Air Condition, Goldston.
Surviving are daughter, Kristy F. Oldham of Goldston; sons, Kevin Douglas Fields of Goldston, Anthony Michael Fields of Sanford; sisters, Sara F. Lamm of Sanford, Rachel F. Scott of Bonlee; three grandchildren.

He was a retired supervisor with B.B. Walker Co. and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was a native of Randolph County, a former owner of Bill's Body Shop in Chester, Pa., had been employed with the Randolph County Sheriff's Department, was retired from Asheboro Building Supply and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

She was a native of Liberty, the widow of Guy W. Smith, was in the Sunday School program and on various committees at her church. She was a charter member and past Worthy Matron of the Liberty Chapter No. 66 Order of the Eastern Star, a charter member and past president of the Flower Lovers Garden Club, and a charter member of the Round Dozen Book Club.
Surviving are son, James W. Smith of Emerald Isle; daughter, Gwen Hewitt of Ardmore, Pa.; sister, Ila K. Allred of Liberty; one granddaughter.
