He was a native of Davidson County, retired after 38 years with the U.S. Post Office in Denton, he was a former timber trader, a graduate of Denton High School and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are wife, Estelle Pratt Elliott of the home; son, Eddie Elliott of Denton; daughter, Marion Deerhake of Raleigh; three grandchildren.

SEAGROVE - Ruby Elizabeth Owen Luck, 93, of N.C. 705, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Seagrove United Church of Christ, where she was a charter member, with the Rev. Kelly Shiflett and the Rev. Dolan A. Talbert officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Moore County, the widow of Ivey Birch Luck, a graduate of Elise Academy in Robbins, and she attended Greensboro Women's College where she received a certificate in education. She was a homemaker, a retired teacher with the Moore County School system, and helped her husband operate their family businesses - Seagrove Oil Company and Cafe, and Luck's Bean Cannery (now Luck's Inc.).
Surviving are daughter, Martha L. Johnson of the home; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren.
