She was a native of High Point, a department manager with Dillards at Oak Hollow Mall and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are son, Jonathan C. Rich of Archdale; fiancé, George Jacobs of the home; mother, Opal Lucille Tucker Catron of High Point; sisters, Kathy Everhart of Lexington, Edna Meredith of Thomasville; brothers, Raymond Catron and Hubert Catron, both of High Point.

She was a native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and was formerly of Chicago, Ill.
Surviving are, daughters, Wendy James of Walkertown, Lynn Perrigo of Siler City; sisters, Jean Holzaepfel of Naples, Fla., Sue Key of East Troy, Wis.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

SILER CITY - Paul Anthony Christopher, 77, of 101 S. Third Ave., Apt, 103, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at Chatham Hospital.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Joe Casteel officiating.
He was a native of Chicago, Ill., a graduate of Purdue and Valparaiso Universities, and was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a retired mechanical engineer, a member of the Siler City Lions Club, Siler City Moose Lodge and American Legion Post # 81, Liberty.
Surviving are wife, Signe L. Christopher of Siler City; daughters, Paula C. Farrell of Portland, Ore., Linda Christopher of Minneapolis, Minn.; sister, Lucille C. Anderson of Golden, Colo.; four grandchildren.

DENTON - Annie Morris Johnson, 96, of Baltimore, Md., formerly of Denton, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, with the Rev. Joe Collins officiating. Burial will be in Denton Town Cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Robert Willard Johnson and a graduate of Denton High School.
Surviving are son, Paul Johnson of Silver Spring, Md.; daughter, Mary Evelyn Verdone of Adelphi, Md.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandsons.

ASHEBORO - Frances Sosebee Prevatte, 82, of 302 Pershing St., Asheboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.
A "Celebration of Life" service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Doug Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Anderson, S.C., retired from Bost Neckwear and was a member of First Baptist Church.

ASHEBORO - Marvin Shelton Simmons, 74, of 1647 Old Lexington Road, Asheboro, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Darrell Summey officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Grove Community Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a member of Smyrna Grove Community Church, retired from Kayser-Roth Industries and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed with Weiser Security Services and worked at the Randolph County dump site on N.C. 49 South.
Surviving are son, Kenneth Simmons of Troy; daughter, Eugenia L. Johnson of Asheboro; brother, Vernon Simmons of Troy; sisters, Pearl Frye and Margaret Hurley, both of Asheboro; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Randolph County, a farmer, was a former superintendent of Sunday School and a member of the choir at his church, and was a member of A.S C.S. of Randolph County.
Surviving are wife, Edna Jordan Hayes of the home; sons, Noel Lee Hayes and David F. Hayes, both of Seagrove; daughters, Gladys H. Johnson and Elizabeth H. Cox, both of Asheboro, Ruth H. She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Ralph E. Miller, a 1944 graduate of Trinity High School and was a retired clerk with the Randolph and Guilford County Departments of Social Services after 23 years of service.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Lois Dorsett English, 92, of Indian River Residential Community, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000.

She was a native of Greensboro, attended school in Greensboro and was a 1929 graduate of Woman's College in Greensboro with a degree in music. She was an organist and pianist at the Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church and First United Methodist Church in Brevard and an associate organist at East Point First United Methodist Church in East Point, Ga.
Surviving are sons, Charles English of Virginia Beach, Va., Thomas English of Asheville, Raymond English of Oberlin, Ohio; brother, Vaughn Dorsett of Asheboro.

She was a native of Alamance County, the widow of Harrison Smith, a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and a former member of First United Methodist Church in Liberty. She was a graduate of Elon College, a teacher at Liberty Elementary School and founded the kindergarten in Liberty at First United Methodist Church, where she was also a teacher.
Surviving are sons, Larry O'Brien Smith of Raleigh, Dr. Lynn Harrison Smith of Sanford; sisters, Melba B. Pegram of Greensboro, Mrs. Max "Pinkie" Morris of Burlington; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
