Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Dr. John C. Noble officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
She was a native of Stokes County, the widow of Joe E. Parsons, owner of Parsons Sewing Machine Shop and a member of Balfour Baptist Church.
Surviving are stepdaughter, Katherine Scott of Atlanta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - George Ross Phillips, 75, of 413 Second Street, formerly of Siler City, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000.
Memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City.
He was a retired engineer with the Department of Transportation in North Carolina and a member of the Boston Terriers Club of N.C.
Surviving are wife, Clara S. Phillips of the home; daughter, Kathryn Boling of Burlington; son, Larry Mabe of Siler City; sisters, Jo Ann Phillips of Siler City, Betty Sue Rives of Goldston; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter.

ASHEBORO - Frances Stanton York, 73, of 1815 Henley Country Road, Randleman, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Central Falls United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Edna Riggs and the Rev. Mark Hicks officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of R.B. York and retired from Randolph Hospital. She was active with Gideon International and was a volunteer at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Surviving are sons, Bryant D. (Dave) York of Randleman, Stan C. York of Robbins; sisters, Cathleen Hooker of Randleman, Emma Lee Prevo of Greensboro; brother, George Stanton of Randleman; four grandchildren.

He was a native of Union County, the widower of Frances Barnes Smith, a member of First United Methodist Church and was formerly employed by York Hosiery.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Cross Sr. of Asheboro; sisters, Marie C. Boone, Vanessa Jordan, both of Asheboro, Patricia C. Balfour of Randleman; brother, Eugene Cross Jr. of Asheboro.

She was the widow of John Richardson, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the missionary circle and the choir, and served on ministry and counsel at her church.
