ROBBINS - Melvie Helen Stutts, 83, of 216 Moore St., died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Larry Higgins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Moore County and was retired from Robbins Mills in Robbins.
Surviving are brother, Thurman Stutts of Robbins; sister, Rona S. Phillips of Hamlet.

CARTHAGE - Myrtle McCaskill Caldwell, 95, of Pinelake Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 708 Sunset Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Eureka Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jean Ganzel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Moore County and the widow of the late James Caldwell.

ASHEBORO -Emma Phillips Moore, 86, formerly of U.S. 311, Sophia, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation Center, Asheboro.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point, with the Rev. Kenneth L. Reaves officiating.
She was a native of Chatham County, a homemaker and the widow of Charlie L. Moore.
Surviving are sisters, Cleo Dobbins, Cladie Treece, both of Ramseur; brothers, Obie Phillips of High Point, Harold Phillips of Asheboro; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

He was a native of Asheboro and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of VFW Post 9418, retired from Sears and was the widower of Pearl Edna Trogdon Wood.
Surviving are daughter, Dr. Sheila J. Wood of Abingdon, Md.; son, Richard Alan Wood of Glendale, Ariz.; brothers, Bascom Wood, Gary Wood, Ralph Wood, all of Randleman, Gene Wood of Marietta, Ga.; sister, Dot Lassiter of Randleman; three grandchildren.
