She was a native of Lee County, a homemaker and a member of Page Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons, Bobby Foushee of Biscoe, Michael Foushee of Charlotte; sister, Bert Jennings of Philadelphia, Penn.; brother, Alfred Lambeth of Sanford.

TROY - Harold Dean Locklear Sr., 62, of 235 Dusty Level Road, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Southside Cemetery, with the Rev. George Harper officiating.
He was a native of Robeson County and a retired maintenance employee with the Montgomery County Schools System.
Surviving are wife, Jean Caudle Locklear of the home; daughter, Barbara Ann Locklear of the home; son, Harold Dean Locklear Jr. of Lillington; sister, Lucille Locklear of Pembroke; brother, George Locklear of Hickory; one grandchild.

ASHEBORO - Mary Baker Sides Brown, 95, of 2925 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Carillon Assisted Living in Asheboro.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sophia Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Bill Barnes. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden in Mint Hill.
She was a native of Union County, a homemaker, the widow of Hurley Wrape and John W. Sides, and was a seamstress.
Surviving are daughters, Betty W. McCullough of Charlotte, Joanne W. Spencer of Sophia; sons, Willis McBride, Thurman McBride, both of Asheboro; brothers, Curtis Baker of Jacksonville, Fla., Parks Baker of Charlotte, Hall Baker of Rock Hill, S.C., Ney Baker of Pageland, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

ASHEBORO - Rosa Bullins Brown, 69, of 5866 U.S. 220 South, Asheboro, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at the home of her daughter.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gene Davis and the Rev. J.R. Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Stokes County, formerly employed as a CNA with Randolph Hospital, and attended New Hope Baptist Church of Star.

She was a resident of Guilford and Randolph counties and retired from Kmart.

She was a native of Randolph County and retired from Smart Style.

HIGH POINT - James Halcomb "Shorty" Matthews, 73, of 1711 W. Lexington Ave., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at The Evergreens Inc.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sechrest Funeral Chapel, High Point, with the Rev. Johnny Albertson officiating. Entombment in Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum will be private.
He was a native of Jamestown, the owner of Matthews Amusements, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Piedmont Masonic Lodge 681, the Elks Club, American Legion Post 206 and the High Point Moose Lodge.
Surviving are wife, Christine Harper Matthews of the home; daughters, Romona Gardner of High Point, Susan "Christy" Matthews of the home; son, James L. Matthews of Jamestown; sister, Kathleen Cheezem of Johnson City, Tenn.; brother, Kenneth Matthews of Jamestown; one grandchild.

He was a native of Montgomery County and a retired truck driver for Greene Lumber Co.

HARTSVILLE, Tenn. - Stephen Gregory Wright, 13, of Hartsville, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral service was held 3 p.m. Sunday at Anthony Funeral Home, Hartsville, Tenn., with Brother Carroll Carman and Brother Donny Martin officiating. Burial was in the Hartsville Memorial Garden.
He was a member of the Mt. Juliet Hockey League and the Macon Trousdale Home School.

He was a native of Moore County, a retired employee of Stanley Furniture Company and was a member of Seven Lakes Baptist Church.

CARTHAGE - Ila Flinchum Caddell, 98, formerly of 105 Monroe St., died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Pinelake Health and Rehabilitation Center, Carthage.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Robert H. Ramey Jr. and the Rev. Stuart Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Cross Hill Cemetery.
She was a native of Surry County, the widow of Joseph A. Caddell, a former owner and operator of O.B. Flinchum Company in Carthage and had received a life membership pin at her church.
Surviving are daughter, Ruby Glass of Fayetteville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Martha Merritt Peterson, 58, of St. Augustine, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine.
Memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 11, at Croyle Funeral Home, St. Augustine, Fla.
She was a native of Randolph County, had attended Seagrove School, received a nursing degree from Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha, Neb., worked at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine and she was a member of PEO and the Junior League.
Surviving are daughters, Molly Dianne Peterson, Amy Laura Shelton, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Emily Nelle Allen of St. Augustine, Fla.; mother, Ruby Stuart Merritt of Asheboro; brothers, E. Hollis Merritt of Angola, Ind., W. Paul Merritt of Newman, Ga., Douglas S. Merritt of Greensboro; five grandchildren.

She was a native of Rowan County, the widow of Frank Ledbetter, and a retired registered nurse.
