He was a native of Asheboro, a Jehovah's Witness and a ninth-grade honor student at Asheboro High School.
Surviving are parents, Ruth and Archie McGill of the home; brothers, Drew McGill and Dirk McGill, both of the home; grandmother, Mae McGill of Asheboro.

RANDLEMAN - Howard Leigh Mosher, 55, of 205 Russell Walker Ave., died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Troy Wilhelm and the Rev. Jack Kivett officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors.
He was a native of Cortland, N.Y., a truck driver for Carolina Pacific, Inc., a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of VFW Post #9418 in Randleman.
Surviving are wife, Leona S. Mosher of Randleman; sons, Howard C. Mosher and Vern Allcock, both of Asheboro, Jeffrey Allcock of Moravia, N.Y.; daughters, Candy Kye of Asheboro, Melissa Thurston and Amber Trogdon, both of Randleman; brothers, Robert Mosher of Cortland, N.Y., Richard Mosher of Ithaca, N.Y., Lawrence J. LIBERTY - Helen Herndon O'Neill, 68, of Tampa, Fla., and formerly of Liberty, died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
She was a 1950 graduate of Liberty High School and the widow of Fred O'Neill.

WINSTON-SALEM - Grace Young Buckland, 84, of Triad Methodist Home, Winston-Salem, formerly of 239 Cherrybrook Lane, Boone, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Triad Methodist Home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hampton Funeral Home, Boone, with Dr. Michael Brown and the Rev. Marianne McMasters officiating. Burial will be in Greenberry-Young Cemetery, Bakersville.
She was a native of Bakersville, Mitchell County, the widow of Dr. Golden T. Buckland Sr., attended Pfeiffer College and Appalachian State Teachers College and was a member of Boone United Methodist Church. She retired after 36 years of teaching and had taught at Mitchell County Elementary School, Covington (Virginia) High School, Appalachian Demonstration School, where she also served as librarian, and Hardin Park Elementary School.
Surviving are daughter, Jane B. Walsh of Asheboro; son, Golden Thaddeus Buckland Jr. of Ridgefield, Conn.; foster son, Keith Wyke of North Wilkesboro; brother, Robert G. Young of Spruce Pine; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

SILER CITY - A. Eugene "Cuckleberry" Jones, 85, of 722 E. Raleigh St., died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Magnolia Manner Rehab and Nursing Center, Inman, S.C.
Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Loves Creek Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Roy Helms officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Orange County, the widower of Bertha Crutchfield Jones and he attended Lees-McRae College. He was retired from the N.C. Wildlife Commission after more than 30 years as one of the first wildlife patrolman in the area and was a retired commissioner with N.C. Wildlife Resources. He was a member and president of both the Optimist Club and the Chatham County Wildlife Club, an adult volunteer for the Boy Scouts and was instrumental in the initial development of the Chatham County Wildlife Club Lake, which was later named after him. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are son, Eugene Jones of Greer, S.C.; daughters, Jo Elaine Macon of Ramseur, Dr. Betsy Walker of Campobello, S.C.; five grandchildren.
The family will be at the church immediately following the service.

He was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Asheboro High School and of Asheboro Business College, and was a National Guard and U.S. Army veteran. He was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Troy, a member of the Troy Town Council, precinct chairman of Montgomery County and was chairman of the Board of Elections. He was in the Jaycees, the Lions Club, served as a Little League director and coach, and was a member of the Methodist Men's Organization.
Surviving are wife, Nancy H. Davis of the home; son, Rod Davis of Cary; daughter, Patrice Bland of New Orleans, La.; brothers, Ward Davis of Hickory, Mack Davis of Asheboro; sister, Kay McMasters of Asheboro; two grandchildren.
