ASHEBORO - Kenneth Linwood Hall Sr., 69, of 5164 Old Lexington Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at his home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flag Springs United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Billy Jarrett officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a native of Stokes County, a U.S. Army veteran, and was retired from Energizer Battery.
Surviving are wife, Juanita Williams Hall of the home; son, Kenneth L. "Keith" Hall Jr. of Chesterfield, S.C.; sisters, Vivian H. Bean, Janice H. Edwards, both of Seagrove, Sarah H. Heasley of Charlotte; brothers, Garland Hall, Winfred Hall, both of Mt. Airy, Vernon Hall of Neosho, Mo., Nathan Hall of King; two grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Thomas Stanley "T" Redding Jr., 62, of 212 Ridgecrest Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. William Christopher Thore officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was native of Asheboro, the widower of Connie Hopper Redding, a member of Central United Methodist Church, and a graduate of Asheboro High School and Davidson College. He was a major in the U.S. Army, serving one tour in Vietnam, and was retired from Pinehurst Textiles.
Surviving are sons, Dr. Thomas S. Redding of Silk Hope, Scott J. Redding of Asheboro; brother, Brantley Redding of Elizabeth City; three grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Monday.

SILER CITY - John Paul "Pete" Price, 76, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at his home.
Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gees Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Allen Moore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Chatham County and was retired from Siler City Mills and Townsend Poultry.
Surviving are wife, Alice Smith Price; son, Johnny L. Price; daughters, Ethel Lois Brooks, Mary Ellen Britton, Patsy Anna Lyons, Jane P. Bowden, all of Durham, Linda Faye Hanes of Lincoln, Neb., Imogene Murphy of Magnolia, Joan L. Price of Columbia, S.C.; brothers, lsaiah "Zeke" Price, Parker Gene Price, both of Siler City, Obie Lee Price of Inglewood, Calif.; sister, Mary Lois Chalmers of Pittsboro; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

SILER CITY - James W. "Red" Terry, 82, of 342 Red Terry Road, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at his home.
Graveside service, with military rites, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chatham Memorial Park, with Ken Thames officiating.
He was a native of Alamance County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and was retired owner-operator of Terry's Meat Market. He was a 1938 graduate of Brevard College and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Surviving are son, John K. Terry of Florence, S.C.; sister, Josephine T. Thompson of Charlotte; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Chatham County, the widower of Montie Cockman Smith, a retired poultry and cattle farmer, and was of the Baptist faith.

ASHEBORO - Thomas Allen Scarborough, 76, of 1036 Kerry St., Asheboro, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Central United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. William Christopher Thore and the Rev. Kenneth Crouse officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Wadesboro, a member of the Lloyds Bible Class at his church, and was retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation after 34 years.
Surviving are wife, Anne Varner Scarborough; son, Allen Scarborough of Raleigh; brother, Jesse "Teeny" Scarborough of Asheboro; sisters, Louise Hedrick of Lilesville, Ethel McCauley of Darlington, S.C., Martha Flynn of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two granddaughters.

THOMASVILLE - John Charles Dorsett, 54, of 403 Crestview Drive, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.

He was a native of Randolph County, a youth director at his church, an Eagle Scout and a volunteer with the Boy Scouts, and a graduate of Guilford College and of Brevard College, with an associates degree.
Surviving are wife, Faye Small Dorsett of the home; parents, Vaughn and Henrietta Hodgin Dorsett; son, Johnny Dorsett Jr. of Virginia; daughter, Farrow Dorsett of the home; brother, Bill Dorsett of Raleigh; granddaughter, Brailyn Noelle Dorsett of the home; three other grandchildren.

He was a native of Sampson County, the widower of Rachel Phillips Hairr, a retired federal food inspector, a member of First United Methodist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving is son, Joe E. Hairr of Siler City.

CONCORD - Robert Dean Lambert Jr., 36, of 1715 Lynwood Drive, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.

He was a native of Concord and president of Lambert & Sons, Inc.

CONCORD - Dr. McDuffy Brown Skeen, 59, of 3569 Cedarfield Court, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Huntersville Oaks, Huntersville.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. James Lutheran Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. John Sell officiating. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
He was a native of Biscoe, a 1959 graduate of Biscoe High School, a 1963 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a 1967 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. He was a U.S. Armed Forces Vietnam veteran, a dentist in Kannapolis and a member of the American Dental Association, Carolina Dental Society and the Cabarrus Dental Society.
Surviving are wife, Lynn Bonds Skeen; daughter, Stacey S. Eggers of Charlotte; mother, Lorena Stubbs Skeen of Biscoe; stepdaughter, Laura Harris Walker of Atlanta, Ga.; stepson, Richard W. Harris of Concord; brother, Dr. William W. Skeen of Mooresville; one grandchild.

He was a native of Mecklenburg County and attended the county schools there, was the widower of Novis Garner Sizemore, was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and the Men's Adult Sunday School class, and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are daughter, Hilda S. Ligon of Clarksville, Va.; sons, Garner Sizemore of Asheboro, Joe Sizemore of Elon College; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - William "Bill" Walker Thomas, 83, of 230 E. Presnell St., Asheboro, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Asheboro Health and Rehabilitation.

He was a native of Randolph County, formerly of Seagrove, was retired from Seagrove Hardware and was a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Rebecca Hamlet of Asheboro, Jane Crist of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, Belva King of Asheboro, Hallie Bennett of Shelby; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

COLERIDGE - Esther Caveness Hodgin, 93, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation of Asheboro.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Concord United Methodist Church, Coleridge.
She was the widow of George Russell Hodgin Sr., a graduate of North Carolina College for Women in Greensboro, and a teacher in Randolph County for 25 years. She was a member of Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, Ramseur, and a member of the Wayside Garden Club, and the Earl of Shaftsbury Chapter of Colonial Dames of the XVII Century.
Surviving are two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the church following the service.
