Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Monday at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home, High Point, with the Rev. Dave Kingrey officiating.
He was a native of Davidson County, the widower of Peggy Jean Beck and was a self-employed automobile body man.
Surviving are daughters, Toni Crowson of Greensboro, Betsy Fisher of Denton, Sherry Strickland of Fayetteville; son, Marty Beck of Trinity; sister, Delores B. Thomas of High Point; brother, Lanoise Beck of Jamestown; eight grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home following the service, other times at the home of Marty Beck, 3216 Broken Oak Road, Trinity.

LEXINGTON - Dorothy Ellen Staley McKinney, 78, of West 7th Ave., died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lexington City Cemetery, with the Rev. Allen Smith officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Wilson McKinney, a member of Sunlight Baptist Church in Lexington and was a homemaker.
Surviving are daughters, Ellen Guy, Victoria Freedman, Alice Schwartz, Bonnie Wilson, Linda Huffman, all of Lexington; sons, Ronnie McKinney, Randy McKinney, Paul McKinney, all of Lexington; sisters, Edna McDaniels of Thomasville, Inez Davis of Franklinville, Thada Maness of Seagrove; brother, Diffie Staley of Ramseur; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.

TAYLORSVILLE - Bertha Spencer Hawkins, 99, of 185 Forest Road, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, with the Rev. C Ray Hawkins officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Clyde Hawkins, a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Taylorsville.
Surviving are son, Rev. C. Ray Hawkins of Richmond Va.; daughters, Ruth H. Foy of Stony Point, Jane Kay Hawkins of Taylorsville; brother, Kenneth Spencer of Asheboro; sisters, Blanche Oertel of Colorado, Leono McLaughlin of Asheboro; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Charlie Brown, a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, and retired after 30 years with Bost Neckwear.
Surviving are son, William "Buddy" Brown of Denton; daughters, Judy Barrett, Charlene Wright, both of Asheboro; sisters, Hazel Brown of Randleman, Vassie Mae Hargins of Newport News, Va.; brother, Jesse Dunning of Newport News, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

CLIMAX - Walter Thomas "Tom" Coltrane, 66, of 3095 Providence Church Road, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Red Cross Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Bud Rowe and the Rev. Ken Goins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Alamance County, a graduate of Liberty High School and was retired from Southern Bell Company after more than 38 years.

DENTON - The Rev. Robert Warren "Bob" Hughes, 82, of Loflin Road, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Thomasville Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randy Lucas and the Rev. Dan Money officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Philadelphia, Pa., a graduate of Asbury College and Temple Seminary, a member of the New Jersey United Methodist Conference and was a retired United Methodist Minister having served churches in New Jersey. He had been an associate minister of Canaan and Siloam United Methodist churches on the Denton Charge and he was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are wife, Majorie J. Hughes of the home; daughters, Joy Callisaya of Dugspur, Va., Robin Hughes of Palm City, Fla.; seven grandchildren.
The family will be at the church 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

He was the widower of Matilda Hargrove Campbell, a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, retired from the Department of Transportation after 30 years and was a farmer.

She was a native of Chatham County and retired from Glendale Hosiery Mill, taught the Adult Sunday School Class and served as an elder and was a member of the choir at her church.

She was a native of Clarksdale, Miss., attended Hillman College, was the widow of the Rev. Archie C. Smith Sr. D.D., and was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Surviving are sons, Don Smith of Kennesaw, Ga., Archie C. Smith Jr. of Mt. Gilead; two grandchildren.

She was a native of Montgomery County, a member of the Covington Group at her church, a 1934 graduate of Star High School, had been employed with United Mills in Mt. Gilead, the Ellerbe School Cafeteria and was retired from Clinton Comer Nationwide Insurance Agency, Ellerbe.
Surviving are husband, Clinton A. Comer of Ellerbe; daughters, Anne H.
