BURLINGTON - June Cheek Wright, 68, of 2059 Edgewood Ave., died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at her home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Tim Robinson officiating. Private burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
She was a native of Asheboro, employed for over 20 years with Wachovia Bank, a member of the Ladies Bible Class and the choir at her church, and she was a member of the Hospice League of Alamance-Caswell.
Surviving are husband, Alfred Wright of the home; daughter, Jane Byrd of Rockingham; son, Jay Wright of Greensboro; sister, Elsie Cheek Scotton of Staley; four grandchildren; one great-grandson.

She was a native of Randolph County and a member of Horseshoe Presbyterian Church in Carbonton.
Surviving are daughters, Judy C. Hill of Bennett, JoAnn Ward of Badin Lake; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker, and a charter member of Vandalia Presbyterian Church, Greensboro.

ASHEBORO - Steven Eugene Parker, 16, of 5293 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Center Cross Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Richard R. Fisher and the Rev. Donnie McNeill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a junior at Southwestern Randolph High School, where he was a member of the BETA Club, the Hunter's Safety Team, FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a varsity football player. He was employed with Hardee's and P&R Carpentry and was a volunteer fireman with the Seagrove Fire Department.
Surviving are parents, David and Marlene Bowman Parker of the home; brother, Kevin "K.P." Parker of the home; sister, Jenny Parker of the home; grandparents, Cecil and Betty Bowman of Asheboro, Bill and Barbara Parker of Trinity.

He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Treva Presnell Maness, a professional dog trainer and a farmer.
Surviving are sons, John W. Maness, Philip Maness, and David Maness, all of Asheboro; daughter, Rebecca M. Poteat of Icard; sister, Mary M. Payseur of Pittsboro; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Mt. Gilead, the widow of Leland Evans, a Sunday School teacher and member of the Chancel Choir, United Methodist Women and the Usher Board at her church.

She was a native of Caroleen, a 1952 graduate of Meredith College, the widow of Alvis Owen George Jr., had worked for the Randolph County Public Library, was a member of the Sorosis Club and Meredith Alumni Association, and had served on the vestry of her church.
Surviving are daughter, Holly George-Warren of New York, N.Y.; sons, Alvis Owen George III of San Francisco, Calif., Robert Jackson Futrelle George of New York, N.Y.; sister, Frances Holland Spratt of Matthews; one grandson.

He was vice president and chief financial officer of HomeMax.
