Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty. Burial will be 4 p.m. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel and Gardens in Jefferson.
He was a graduate of Guilford Technical Community College with an associate degree for EMS, a nationally registered paramedic, was certified in Tactical Emergency Medical Services and was a paramedic with Randolph County for 12 years.
Surviving are wife, Pattie Rhodes of the home; mother, Ramelle Rhodes of Jefferson; brother, Bill Rhodes of St. Louis; stepdaughter, Sarah Johnson of the home; stepsons, Jake Johnson and Johnny Johnson, both of the home.
The family will be at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Thursday.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, employed with Energizer of Asheboro and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are son, Franklin Lee Nix of Asheboro; mother, Maxine Hart of Asheboro; Albert Washifinsky of the home.

SEAGROVE - John Reitzel Ferree Sr., 94, of 4723 Fork Creek Mill Road, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Richard Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Old Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Guilford County, retired from Holiday Inn, where he worked as a maintenance engineer, and was a member of Community Baptist Church. He was previously employed with Russell Hosiery Mills and other hosiery mills, had been an aircraft mechanic in Langley Field, Va., and attended Riverside Baptist Church.
Surviving are son, John Reitzel Ferree Jr. of Seagrove; daughter, Mona Rae Chriscoe of Seagrove; sister, Elizabeth Rogers of High Point; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

HIGH POINT - Clifton Kenneth Nelson, 76, of 316-B Burton St., died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, Clemmons, with the Rev. Don Ashley and the Rev. Clarence Campbell officiating.
He was a native of Forsyth County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, had worked for Ingram Vending and Red Bird Cab and was of the Baptist faith.

He was a former resident of Brevard, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, the widower of Beverly Sue Wilson, and was a retired division manager with Owens-Illinois.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Wilbur Rush, had been employed as a nursing assistant at GrayBrier Nursing Center, and was a member of Bethel Glenola United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons, Randall Rush, William Rush, both of Trinity; daughter, Rhonda Budges of Raleigh; sister, Ometa Lindsay of Trinity; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Halifax County, Va., a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church, and was formerly employed with Burlington Mills Clarksville Refinishing Plant.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Victory Community Baptist Church, Carthage, where he was pastor, with the Rev. Egbert Craven and the Rev. Mark Garner officiating. Burial will be in Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Sanford.
He was a native of Lee County and a minister for over 53 years.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of H.D. Earl, a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, and attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church, High Point. She was a homemaker, had been associated with Brunswick Tar Heel Lanes of High Point, was a past president of High Point Mineral Club, a member of High Point Women of the Moose and of High Point Women's Bowling Association, and was a charter member of Club 55 at Tar Heel Lanes.
Surviving are daughters, Faye Parnell of Kernersville, Darlene Bryant of High Point; sons, Mike Harmon, Kevin Harmon, both of High Point, Joseph Harmon of Spring Lake; daughter-in-law, Susan Harmon of the home; sisters, Edna Loflin, Rebecca Raymond, both of Franklinville; brothers, Charles Harrelson, Billy Harrelson, both of Asheboro, Bobby Harrelson of Randleman, Gurney Harrelson of Kannapolis; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Guilford County, a retired employee of Curtis Packing in Greensboro, a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Climax, a War World II U.S. Army veteran, and he attended Pleasant Garden School.
Surviving is daughter, Susan Ledbetter of High Point.

He was a native of Montgomery County, retired from Sears Mail Order Division, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the Southern Baptist Convention.

MATTHEWS - Margaret Hardin Allen, 89, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, in Matthews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Wadesboro. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery, Wadesboro.
She was a native of Chester, S.C., the widow of Fred Huntley Allen, and a 1933 graduate of Winthrop College with a degree in business law. She was a leader of the Baptist Training Union at First Baptist Church, as well as GAs, RAs, Sunbeams, Vacation Bible School and Boy Scouts. She was a women's Bible class teacher, on the board of deacons and served on the General Board of the North Carolina State Baptist Convention. She was a Meals on Wheels volunteer, president of the church Missionary Union and organized and was the first president of the Women's Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) of Anson County Hospital. She was a member and chairman of the first North Carolina Hospital Auxiliary Council, she developed and was the first editor of "The Loudspeaker," the state auxiliary newsletter, and was president of the Anson County Library board. She received a Woman of the Year award from Anson County Chamber of Commerce, awarded the Woodman of the World Honor Plaque for Outstanding Community Service, received the State Hospital Auxiliary Super Volunteer Award, was a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, and received a degree of Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Wingate University in 1995.
Surviving are sons, Dr. Fred H. Allen Jr. of Charlotte, Jim H. Allen of Asheboro; daughter, Missy A. Brown of Southern Pines; sisters, Jane H. Hankinson of Spartanburg, S.C., Judy H. Lathram of Monroeville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the church at 1 p.m. on Monday.

She was a native of Montgomery County, a homemaker, the author of "The Morning Star," a History of Ramseur and several books of poetry.
