Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Ron Hamilton, the Rev. Don Dawalt and Gene Bumgarner officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Henderson, had worked at Phillips Brothers County Ham, and was co-owner and operator of Fran's Chicken Hut. He was a Hospice volunteer and served in the N.C. National Guard.
Surviving are wife, Frances Ann Patterson of the home; daughters, Pamela Priddy, Kimberly Garner, both of Asheboro; sons, David Patterson, Phillip Patterson, Larry Shope, Jr., all of Asheboro; sisters, Nellie Aycock of Henderson, Carolyn Berger of Richmond, Va., Shirley Hanford of Anderson, S.C., Nora Short of Concord; brothers, Jerry Patterson, Wayne Patterson, Lynwood Patterson, all of Henderson, Brooks Patterson of Charlotte, Glen Patterson of Staunton, Va.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Monday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Summey officiating. Burial will be in Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County and retired from Carrick Turning Works Inc.

BISCOE - Walter Franklin Ivey, 77, of Autumn Care of Biscoe, died Friday, May 11, 2001.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Stanly Garden of Memory in Albemarle, with the Rev. Junior F. Davis officiating.
He was a native of Sampson County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and was a retired furniture worker.
Surviving are daughters, Sharon Parker of Star, Melanie R. Thompson of Troy; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

MT. GILEAD - Arvie Marks Brock, 84, formerly of 144 Dusty Loop Road, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Brithaven of Piedmont Nursing Center, Albemarle.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hamer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Alex Willoughby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery
She was a native of Montgomery County and retired from Gilead Mfg. Corp. of Mt. Gilead.
Surviving are daughters, Marie Lowe of Asheboro, Pauline Mabry of Albemarle, Louise Gardner, Gloria Airington, Rosa Mask, all of Mt. Gilead; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Montgomery County, the widow of Adrian C. Moore, and a homemaker.

He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Edith Caldwell Talley and a charter member of Randleman Lions Club. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a former school principal in Rockingham and the managing officer of the Randleman Savings & Loan for 25 years where he also served as secretary/treasurer.
