ROCKINGHAM - Lois Moore Clark, 88, of 63 3rd Ave., died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Pryor officiating. Burial will be in Clark Family Cemetery, Hamlet.

She was a native of Timmonsville, S.C., the widow of Joseph Clark, and a housewife.

Surviving are son, Robert Clark of Asheboro; daughters, Doris Shepard, Sue Goins, both of Rockingham, Ada McLaughlin of Effingham, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at Marks Funeral Home, Rockingham, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Doris Shepard, 113 Rogosin St.

Irene S. Fagg
ASHEBORO - Irene Somers Fagg, 91, of Carolina House of Asheboro, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Balfour Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. John C. Noble officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of Charlie F. Fagg, and a member of the Senior Saints Choir at her church.

Surviving are sons, Charlie F. Fagg Jr. of Troy, Jack Fagg of Franklinville, Phillip Fagg of Asheboro; sisters, Annie Lee Hilliard of Pleasant Garden, Margaret Parker of Arizona; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Phillip Fagg, 1216 Westover Terrace, Asheboro.

Memorials may be made to Balfour Baptist Church Building Fund, 1644 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, N.C. 27203 or to charity of donor's choice.

HIGH POINT - Billy Daniel Bryson, 32, of 1109 Wilson Place, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at his home.

Funeral service will be 8:30 p.m. Friday at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home, High Point.

He was a native of Randolph County and a self-employed painter.

Surviving are wife, Carolyn of the home; sons, Derick, Adam; daughter, Natasha; father, Billy Ray Bunting of Asheboro; stepmother, Carolyn Bunting of Asheboro; brothers, Ricky Bryson of Archdale; Keith Bryson of Asheboro; sister, Tammy Bryson of Asheboro.

The family will be at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday.

Cassandra L. Brady
SILER CITY - Cassandra L. Brady, 36, of 403 East Sixth St., died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lambert Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. William Harrington officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Chatham County, a 1983 graduate of Jordan Matthews High School, and was employed at Sidewalk Cafe.

Surviving are son, Yusuf Kimes of the home; parents, Joe and Katie Brady of Siler City; brothers, Joey Brady, Rodney Matthews, both of Asheboro, Jeffery Brady of Siler City; sister, Memi Newman of Greensboro; Matthew Brewer of the home.

The family will be at Farrar Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-8 p.m. Friday.

John W. Hodge Jr.
TRINITY - John "Jack" W. Hodge Jr., 76, formerly of 1707 Watkins St., Ramseur, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at the home of his sister, 5142 Cumby Road, Trinity.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Kenneth Evans, the Rev. J. C. Alley and the Rev. Justin McKeel officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Knoll Cemetery.

He was a native of Winston-Salem, a retired merchant seaman and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Surviving are sister, Frances Koon of Trinity; brothers, Ray Hodge of Sandston, Va., Fred S. Hodge of Kinston.

The family will be at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, 1-3 p.m. Friday, and at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Friday.

BISCOE - Billy Ray McLendon, 48, of 143 Spring Road, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Southside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

He was employed with Renfro Knitting Mill of Star.

Surviving are wife, Cynthia McLendon of Biscoe; daughter, Billie Jean McLendon of Star; brother, Larry A. McLendon of Biscoe; three stepchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Friday.

ASHEBORO - Bobby Wayne Carter, 37, of 1007 Salisbury St., Asheboro, died near Staley.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Boyd Byerly officiating.

He was a Randolph County native and was employed with Universal Fiber.

Surviving are sons, Johnathan Carter, Cody Carter, both of Ramseur; daughter, Nancy Nicole Carter of Ramseur; father, George Henry Carter Sr. of Texas; mother and stepfather, John Robert and Ruby Nancy Stevenson Newins of Carolina Beach; brothers, Joey Edward Carter of Asheboro, George Henry "Butch" Carter Jr. of Taylorsville, James Lloyd Carter, Mark Anthony Carter, both of Carolina Beach; Sherri Peery of the home.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Saturday, other times at the home of Joey Carter, 1007 Salisbury St., Asheboro.

Bobby W. Needham
ASHEBORO - Bobby Wesley Needham, 70, of 3293 Staleys Farm Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Russell's Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Fonner and the Rev. Thurman Williams officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a member of Love Outreach Ministries and a retired mechanic with Lemonds Brothers Garage.

Surviving are wife, Louise Greene Needham; daughters, Juanita Gordon, Judy Barrett, Connie Bush, Debbie Shaw, all of Asheboro; brother, Billy Lee Needham of Cary; sister, Betty Lou Presnell of Asheboro; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6-9 p.m. Saturday, other times at the residence, and at the home of Juanita Gordon, 1117 Hub Morris Road, Asheboro.

Catherine N. Sweet
ROBBINS - Catherine Nicholson Sweet, 77, of 588 Wyatt Road, formerly of Perryville, Md., died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Harford Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, Md.

She was a native of Moosic, Pa., and was a retired nurse at Perry Point Veteran's Hospital.

Surviving are sons, Robert L. Sweet of Sabael Indian Lake, N.Y., Charles P. "Phil" Sweet of Robbins; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, is in charge of local arrangements.

Ronald F. Whitt
CAMERON - Ronald Franklin Whitt, 44, of 132 Lynn W. Road, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pineywood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Lassiter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County and was the owner of Whitt Trucking Co. in Cameron.

Surviving are wife, Ann Cameron Whitt; daughters, Jane Whitt, Rhonda Whitt, both of the home, Teresa W. Davies of Grand Rapids, Mich.; parents, Frank and Jean Wood Whitt of Cameron; brother, Mike Whitt of Cameron; one grandchild.

The family will be at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, 7-8 p.m. Saturday.

Ruby O. Buser
ASHEBORO - Ruby Wilson Owen Buser, 86, of 1383 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Asheboro, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Winford Clifton officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

She was a native of Pittsylvania County, Va., a retired schoolteacher, a member of Oakton United Methodist Church in Oakton, Va., a member of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron in the Harmony Chapter in Vienna, Va.

Surviving are daughters, Nancy B. McLaughlin of Franklinville, Sharon B. Irons of Charlotte; sister, Dorothy Anderson of Chatham, Va.; one granddaughter.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tolley McLaughlin, 3467 Kidds Mill Road, Franklinville.

CANDOR - Gene Jacob Field, 58, of Lake Butler, Fla., formerly of Raeford, died Thursday, May 24, 2001.

Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Raeford Cemetery, with the Rev. Doug Kennedy officiating.

He was a native of Summit County, Ohio, and a painter.

Surviving are brothers, Archie Field of Scranton, Pa., Herman "Pete" Harrell of Hamlet; sisters, Ruth Thompson of Candor, Mary Queen of Kings Mountain; Faith Harrell of Clarks Summit, Pa.

The family will be at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Edith Z. Fell
LIBERTY - Edith Ziegler Fell, 83, of 326 W. Butler St. Ext., died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty. Burial will be in Landcroft Burial Park, Fairfield, Conn.

She was a native of Philadelphia, Pa., the widow of Chester Fell, a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, Conn., and was retired from Harvey Hubbell Inc. in Bridgeport, Conn.

Surviving are sons, Robert Fell of Liberty, Donald Fell of Wolcott, Conn.; sister, Helen Belliotti of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7:20 p.m. prior to the service Tuesday, other times at the home.

Lucille B. Richardson
MT. GILEAD - Lucille Bulla Richardson, 80, formerly of 329 Nelson Store Road, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Autumn Care Nursing Center, Biscoe.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. David Kime and the Rev. Alex Willoughby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County and a former day care operator.

Survivors are husband, Otis C. Richardson of Autumn Care Nursing Center; sons, Frank Richardson of Asheville, Billy Richardson of Mt. Gilead; daughter, Libby R. Harris of Mt. Gilead; brother, Edsel Bulla of Asheboro; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, from 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home of Libby Harris, 329 Nelson Store Road.

He was a native of Randolph County and attended Mt. View Independent Methodist Church.

Surviving are wife, Edith Hunt Pierce of Asheboro; daughters, Ronda Bunting of Asheboro, Robin Frisby of Trinity; sisters, Fleta Small, Ruth Hughes, both of Trinity; brother, Dempsey Pierce of Trinity; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Guilford County and was retired from K-Mart.

Surviving are husband, Robert W. Osborne Sr. of the home; daughters, May Weiss of Randleman, Shirley Goodwin of Asheboro; sons, Edgar Lester Gorrell of Holly Ridge, William Thomas Gorrell of Meadows of Dan, Va., Eddie Eugene Gorrell of Randleman; stepchildren, Patricia Jennings, Bobbie Osborne, both of Randleman, Margaret Bolins of Summerfield; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Thomas L. Wyrick
SOPHIA - Thomas Leo Wyrick, 73, died Monday, May 28, 2001, in Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sophia United Church of Christ, where he was a member, with the Rev. Jack Clark and the Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Guilford County, the widower of Edna LaMarr Wyrick, a retired employee of Cone Mills, a deacon at his church, a charter member of New Market Civitan Club, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are daughter, Leola Yates of Sophia; son, Avery Wyrick of Sophia; sister, Virginia Still of Pleasant Garden; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of the daughter, 2012 Old Plank Road, Sophia.

Felipe Chavez-Munoz
ROBBINS - Felipe "Phillip" Chavez-Munoz, 7, of 266 Sandoval Lane, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, as the result of a lightning accident.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Nellie Bescher officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Seagrove.

He was a native of Randolph County and a student at West Moore Elementary School, where he had completed the first grade.

Surviving are parents, Linda and Fredie Chavez-Munoz of the home; brother, Andres Chavez-Munoz of the home; sister, Kayla Chavez-Munoz of the home; half brothers, Tommy Williamson, Bradley Williamson, both of Coleridge; grandparents, Lucille and Oskar Saunders of Asheboro, Manuel and Manuella Chavez-Munoz of Mexico.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Elizabeth M. Morris
TROY - Elizabeth "Lib" Moore Morris, 87, of FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Skilled Care, Troy, formerly of 1385 Lovejoy Road, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.

Graveside service will be noon Wednesday at Ether UMC Cemetery, Ether, with the Rev. John Bushell officiating.

She was a native of Montgomery County, a member of Troy Presbyterian Church and was a retired surgical nurse at Montgomery Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are sister, Grace Thayer of Troy; brother, K. W. Moore Jr. of Archdale; one grandson.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Geraldine D. Hinson
ALBEMARLE - Geraldine "Mirt" Hopkins Dry Hinson, 71, of 321 Depot St., died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at N C. Lutheran Home, Albemarle Unit.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Albemarle Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. David Rollins and the Rev. Jessie Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Canton Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Stanly County, the widow of both Henry Craig Dry and Robert C. "Ted" Hinson, was a retired textile employee, and was a charter member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are sons, Gerald Craig Dry, David Greg Dry, both of Stanfield; daughter, Belinda Rebecca Dry of Asheboro; sister, Imogene "Jean" Stokes of Albemarle; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle, 6-8 p.m. Monday.
