Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Lawrence Gilmore officiating. Burial will be in Oakland/McCrary Cemetery, Ramseur.
She was a native of Chatham County and a retired employee of Acme-McCrary Hosiery Mill.
Surviving are daughters, Pauline Andrews of Ramseur, Clara "Dee Dee" Goldston of Liberty; sons, Frank Isley of Ramseur, Douglass Isley of Asheboro; sisters, Elvaina Thomas and Aliene Isley, both of Ramseur; brothers, Arthor Thomas of Philadelphia, Pa., Roy Thomas and Guy Thomas, both of Asheboro; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the church 10-11 a.m. Friday prior to the service.

Surviving are brothers, Ray Byrd of Norwood, Johnny Byrd of Candor; sisters, Isabelle Carter of Troy, Louise Beitzel and Shirley Greene, both of Mt. Gilead.

ASHEBORO - Hal Carris "Ike" Parrish, 83, of 1680 Old Lexington Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Steve Wood officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, retired from Von-Tex Hosiery, and attended Charlotte United Methodist Church.
Surviving are wife, Mary Ellen Bulla Parrish, brothers, Clegg Parrish, Arthur Parrish, both of Asheboro; half brothers, L. C. Parrish, Ray Parrish, both of Asheboro, Max Parrish of Seagrove; half sisters, Esther P. Cox, Hilda P. Robbins, both of Asheboro.

ASHEBORO - Woodrow Wilson Thompson, 78, of 154 Lewallen Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at the V. A. Hospital in Durham.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. David Noyes and the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be in West Bend United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors.
He was a native of Randolph County, attended West Bend United Methodist Church, was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and was retired from Klaussner Furniture.
Surviving are sister, Alberta Hunt of Asheboro.

NAPLES, Fla. - Christa Hill Torrence, 52, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at the Cleveland Clinic.

She was a native of Frankfurt, Germany, a graduate of Paul Erlich College in Frankfurt, Germany, had attended Furman University in Greenville, S.C., had been employed at American Express, Daniel Construction Company, and Healthcare Packaging for Rexham Corp. in Greensboro.
Surviving are husband, Ron Torrence of Naples, Fla.; daughter, Natascha Glatzhofer of Carol Stream, Ill.; stepdaughter, Sandra Hernandez; stepsons, Ron Torrence Jr., Thomas Torrence; father, Herbert Mueller of Neu Isenburg, Germany; mother, Elisabeth Mueller of Frankfurt, Germany; sisters, Monika Duerr, Ingrid Demirbilek, Eleonore Klang, all of Frankfurt, Jutta of Neu Isenburg, Germany; three grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County, retired from Randolph Mills after 48 years and was a member of The Virgin Chapter #17 Order of Eastern Star, Franklinville.

He was a native of London, England, a State Chief Engineer for New York State and was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are daughters, Susan Chaney of Dunkirk, Md., Gloria O'Neal of Canon City, Colo.; son, Larry Raino Jr. of Seagrove; sister, Margaret Begnoche of New Milford, Conn.; nine grandchildren.

A native of Grand Rapids, Mich., he was a graduate of Kendall School of Design and a furniture designer for 40 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the High Point Golf Association.
Surviving are wife, Rheumell Jones Prangley of the home; daughter, Susan Kimel of Asheboro; brother, Leslie Prangley Jr. of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one granddaughter.
A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Monday at Sechrest Funeral Service, High Point; the family will be at the funeral home after the prayer service until 8:30 p.m.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Randolph and Dr. Boyd Stokes officiating.
She was a native of Davidson County, a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Home Economics, a Home Extension Agent in Asheboro, and worked with Trollinger Real Estate after her retirement. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Asheboro and a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Greensboro, had served on the board of the Boys' & Girls' Home in Lake Waccamaw and was a member of the North Carolina Zoo and Randolph Arts Guild.
The family will be at the church following the service.
