Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eleazer United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Derald Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County, the widow of N. B. Hardister Sr., and a homemaker.
Surviving are stepdaughters, Carrie Adkins, Mary Lou Hinson, Betty Jo Hunsucker, all of Troy; stepson, Paul Hardister of Troy; sisters, Dorothy Link of Charlotte, Lucille Batten of Georgia; 40 stepgrandchildren.
The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Troy, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

TROY - Lee Adam Turner, 81, of 1130 N. Main St., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Forks of Little River Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Lawrence Stewart officiating.
He was a native of Stanly County and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are wife, Pauline McQueen Turner of the home; daughters, Ginger T. Roy of Troy, Jill T. Foster of Greensboro, Karen T. Bryant of Gastonia; brother, John A. Turner of Troy; sister, Marjorie Deaton of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren.

She was a native of Moore County and retired from Milliken Co. and B.B. Walker Co.

ASHEBORO - Buis Marson Hargett, 68, of 985 Randolph Tabernacle Road, Asheboro, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at his home.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retired security guard with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a graduate of Troy High School and Pensacola Junior College, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, retired from Acme-McCrary Corp., a deacon at his church and a volunteer with the American Red Cross.

He was a native of Randolph County, a cook, attended N.C. A&T State University and was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran where he received three Bronze Service Stars.

He was a native of Guilford County, the widower of Lessie Matthews Smith, a member of the Purvis Neece Men's Sunday School Class at his church and a 1934 graduate of Pleasant Garden High School. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, worked in food service sales and at Harris Teeter on Randleman Road.
Surviving are daughter, Brenda S. Boyce of Greensboro; one granddaughter.

He was a native of Chatham County, a lumberman, cattleman and farmer, and a charter member, an organizer and former president of Silk Hope Ruritan Club. He was a former member of the Liberty Rotary Club, the N.C. Cattlemen's Association, N.C. Sheriffs' Association, the Alamance Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Edsel Owners Club of America.
Surviving are daughters, Sandra Johnson of Beaufort, S.C., Beverly Scott of Gibsonville; son, Turner Hargrove of Siler City; sister, Doris Perry of Siler City; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren.

MT. GILEAD - Muldrew Arthur Powers, 96, of Hermitage Retirement Center, Lumberton, formerly of Mt. Gilead, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at the center.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Sharon Cemetery, Mt. Gilead, with the Rev. Chris Cadenhead officiating.
He was a native of Robeson County, the widower of Margaret Haywood Powers, a graduate of Barker Ten-Mile High School, of Wingate Junior College, of Furman University with an AB, and he attended Wake Forest University. He was a retired educator, taught in Fairmont City Schools and retired as principal of Hoffman High School, Hoffman. He was a farmer, a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead, where he was a past deacon and chairman of the board of deacons, and served on the board of the State Baptist Convention. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Civitan Club, a trustee of Wingate College and was named one of the first Honorary Lifetime Trustees by the university.

He was a native of Summerfield, the widow of Priscilla Martin Comer, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and sold insurance and real estate in Carthage. He was a trustee, choir member and a member of the administrative board at his church. He was a member of the Elks Club, Rotary Club, and Jaycees, served on the board of directors of BB&T and was a charter member of Whispering Pines Country Club.
Surviving are wife, Annie L. Bradsher Wirtz Comer; daughters, Linda Slade of Raleigh, Gayla Comer of Cameron; sons, George Wirtz of Southern Pines, Bruce Comer of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Lib Lesler of Tallahassee, Fla.; brother, David Comer of Carthage; six grandchildren.
