ASHEBORO - Martin Walter Lambert, 88, formerly of Forest Park Drive, Randleman, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Kermit Gray and the Rev. Dole Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Ida Routh Lambert, a charter member of Forest Park Baptist Church and a retired auto mechanic.
Surviving are sons, John Martin Lambert of Asheboro, Larry Clinton Lambert Sr. of Franklinville, Franklin Walter Lambert, Timothy T. Lambert, both of Randleman, Glenn Preston Lambert of Oak Ridge; daughters, Linda L. Byrd, Susan L. Davis, both of Asheboro; Cynthia L. Dyer of Newnan, Ga.; sister, Edith L. Quick of Asheboro; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Linda L. Byrd, 3646 N.C. 134, Asheboro.

LIBERTY - William Arnold Edwards, 78, of 7349 Ferguson Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at the V.A. Hospital in Asheville.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Steve Roberts officiating. Burial will be in White's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a Randolph County native, a farmer and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are daughter, Doris Burch of Liberty; sister, Lucille Ellison of Liberty; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

SEAGROVE - William Branson Hussey, 78, of 9667 Erect Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at his home.

He was a native of Moore County and was retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery Co.

THOMASVILLE - James Mark Flannery Jr., 48, of 2421 Hardin Road, Connelly Springs, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, in Valdese.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, Thomasville, with the Rev. Faron Overton officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, with military honors.
He was a native of High Point, retired from Stuart Furniture in Asheboro, a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and a graduate of Davidson County Community College with a degree in electrical engineering.
Surviving are father and stepmother, James Mark Flannery Sr. and Ellen Flannery of Denton; daughter, Jamie C. F. Phillips of Asheboro; sisters, Jenny Deed of Trinity, Judy Loflin of Shallotte, Loraine Caudill of Orion Township, Mich., Lesia McDaniel of Thomasville; brothers, Jack Lynn Flannery, Robert Dean Flannery, both of Thomasville; one grandson.

He was a native of Davidson County, employed 26 years at Hatteras Yachts in High Point, and attended Farmer Baptist Church.

She was a native of Chatham County, retired as the secretary of King Roofing Co. in Sanford, and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sanford.

He was a native of Carthage, the widower of Mable Cole Cagle, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and owner and operator of Cagle's Used Cars in Carthage.

She was a native of Franklin County, the widow of Cleveland Allen "C.A." Partin, and owner and operator of Ruth's Restaurant in Siler City. She was a former member of Love's Creek Baptist Church, a member of the Adult 4 Ladies Sunday School Class at Emerywood and attended the Archdale Senior Adult Center.
Surviving are sons, Ben Partin of Trinity, Elbert Partin of Bear Creek; sister, Louise Prevatte of Wilmington; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

BENNETT - Earl Routh, 78, of 421 Lee St., died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bennett Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Timothy Strider and the Rev. Bob Bouldin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Chatham County, retired from Burlington Industries and Bennett Farm Supply and Hardware, and a former member and assistant chief of the Bennett Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are wife, Mozelle McNeill Routh of the home; daughters, Dianne R. Parker of Bennett, Joan R. Lynch of Asheboro; brother, Bernard "Frog" Routh of Bennett; sister, Christine Beal of Siler City; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Clarence M. Patterson
CARTHAGE - Clarence McFayden "Pat" Patterson, 97, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at his home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. David Coffey Jr. and the Rev. Robert Ramey Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Jackson Springs, attended Ellerbe Springs High School and the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy, had worked at Mabry's Drug Co. in HamIet, and retired after 35 years from Shield's Drug Co. where he was a partner. He was a deacon, elder and elder emeritus at his church, and a member of Carthage Masonic Lodge No. 181. He served on the Carthage Town Board of Commissioners, the Board of Directors of First American Savings and Loan and on the Branch Banking and Trust Board, and was a member and chairperson of the Moore County ABC Board of Directors.
Surviving are wife, Maxine Lewis Patterson; daughters, Kay Patterson of Elizabeth City, Ann Patterson Herndon of Carthage; one granddaughter.
