Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Jesse Wallace and the Rev. Terry Batchelor officiating. Burial will be in Franklinville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, was the widower of Margaret Marie Smith Beane, had been employed with Hamrick's Manufacturing and attended Pleasant Ridge Christian Church.
Surviving are daughters, Clarice "Beany" Wilson, Peggy Maness, Lois "Shrimp" Dison, Donna Cox, all of Franklinville, Linda Gail Brady of Sophia; sister, Mary Shoe of Franklinville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

RAMSEUR - Henry Fletcher Allred Jr., 71, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.
A private funeral service will be held Friday.
He was a native of Randolph County, a 1951 graduate of Asheboro High School, attended Appalachian State Teacher's College and received his master's degree from Florida Atlantic University. He retired from teaching after 31 years, the last 20 years in the Asheboro City Schools system, was a beekeeper and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are wife, Joan Manning Allred of the home; sons, Jeff Allred of Mebane, Hank Allred of Ramseur; sisters, Jean A. Kohl, Eleanor Rich, Helen White, all of Asheboro, Ava Sapp of Halifax, Va., Joy King of Greensboro; brother, Jerry "Brad" Allred of Wrightsville Beach; two grandchildren.

STALEY - John Vestal "J.V." Langley Jr., 78, of 3337 W. Third St., died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at his home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Eddie Mishoe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Mary Kathryn Langley, a member of Siler City Pentecostal Holiness Church, retired from the N.C. DOT and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are daughter, Judy L. Fogleman of Snow Camp; son, Tony D. Langley of Bennett; sister, Louise L. Wilson of Ramseur; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Verna Stout Snider, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, attended Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church and was retired from Klopman Industries.
Surviving are daughter, Brenda S. Buchanan of Sanford; son, Jerry Snider of the home; sisters, Pearl Loflin of Denton, Irene Baxter of Robbins; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

TROY - Jack L. Harper, 80, of 220 Watkins St., died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Troy, where he was a member, with the Rev. Raleigh Castelloe officiating. Burial will be in Forks of Little River Baptist Church Cemetery in Troy.
He was a native of Montgomery County, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Montgomery County Rescue Squad, executive vice president of First Bank from 1947-1982 and was a Troy town commissioner for 20 years.
Surviving are wife, Mary Leach Harper of the home; sons, David L. Harper of Troy, Edward L. Harper of Maryville, Tenn.; sisters, Virginia H. Alexander of Troy, Sarah H. Beddingville of Clayton, Janice H. Lane of Charlotte, Betty H. Christenbury of Gastonia; two granddaughters.

He was a retired minister and a graduate of the Bible Training Institute.
