Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Thurman Williams and the Rev. Jim Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with Masonic rites.
He was a native of Star, a member of Mountain of Faith Baptist Church, a Mason with Franklinville Lodge #128 and retired from Rockwell International.
Surviving are wife, Ruby Beal Davis; stepdaughters, Paula Stevens and Susan Usher, both of Asheboro, Vicky Brown of Ramseur; sister, Mary F. Chandler of Asheboro; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

ASHEBORO - Franklin C. "Frank" Flanagan, 67, of Sophia, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at his home.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Sedgefield Chapel, Greensboro.
He was a native of McDowell County, W.Va., and co-owner with his wife of Long View Service for 24 years.

CANDOR - Nettie Jean Shepard Simmons, 70, of 2528 Candor/Troy Road, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Faith Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Martin E. Davis, the Rev. Dennis Sheppard and the Rev. Fredrick Mitschke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Union County, the widow of R.G. Simmons and a homemaker.

BISCOE - Thurman Willis Britt, 70, of 473 Brewer Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

He was a native of Moore County and employed as a supervisor at Russell Hosiery Mill.

WAGRAM - Joseph McNally Holt, 82, of 25521 Hill Creek Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Century Care in Laurinburg.
Funeral service will be 11 am. Friday at Spring Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Van Ingram, the Rev. Larry Wilson and the Rev. Don McCaskill officiating. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Biscoe Cemetery.
He was a native of Guilford County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, retired from J.P. Stevens Co. and had worked with Springs Mills in Biscoe. He was a deacon at his church, and a former member of First Baptist Church in Biscoe where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are wife, Frances Holt of Wagram; son, Larry Joseph Holt of Hamlet; daughters, Barbara H. Bruton of Troy, Janie H. McCaskill of Laurinburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
The family will be at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium, Laurinburg, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of Earlie Hiatt Tucker, a retired employee of Brayton International and she attended Cedar Square Friends Meeting.
Surviving are daughter, Donise T. Sentelik of Jupiter, Fla.; son, Timothy Lee Tucker of Randleman; three grandchildren.

She was a native of Yancey County and a retired employee of Aileen Furniture.

She was a native of Worthville, a homemaker, worked with her husband at The Record Shop and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are husband, Arthur F. "Archie" Burkhead; daughters, Pamela B. Pounds of St. Augustine, Fla., Lyn B. Rufty of Asheboro; sister, Betty Edwards of Greenville; brother, Coleman Ward of Lexington; one granddaughter.

She was a native of Randolph County and the widow of Fred T. Pugh.

AIKEN, S.C. - Curtis "Curt" G. Smith, 43, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at his home.

He was a native of Reidsville, a computer programmer/analyst with Saga Software, a graduate of Radford University in Radford, Va., and had attended Cedar Creek Church.

He was a native of Rockford, Ill., attended Asheboro High School, was formerly employed by Prestige Fabricators, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a member of the Asheboro Chapter of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
