SILER CITY - Jesse Clark Allred, 84, of 1208 New Garden Road, Greensboro, formally of Pine Forest Drive, Siler City, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church Siler City, where he was a member, with the Rev. Joe Casteel officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.
He was a native of Chatham County, served with the United Methodist Men and the United Methodist Men's Bible Class at his church, was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, and an active reserve member, retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was a member of the Wildlife Club, American Legion Post 93 of Siler City and 40 and 8 American Legion 1172 of Liberty, was inducted into the American Legion Hall of Fame, and was operator of the Siler City License Plate Agency for 26 years.
Surviving are wife, Hazel Barker Allred of the home; daughters, Beverly A. Lassiter of Greensboro, Debra A. Reynolds of North Augusta, S.C.; son, Sydney CIark Allred of Orlando, Fla.; stepdaughter, Deborah Latek of Chicago, Ill.; stepson, Roy Edward Daulong of Siler City; brothers, George Allred of Bonlee, Harold Allred, Jack Allred, both of Siler City; sisters, Annie Rue A. Fox of Siler City, Frances A. Disharoon of Newark, Md.; two grandchildren.
The family will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

ASHEBORO - Gertrude Clark Hyler, 87, formerly of Mack Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Jack Kivett officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Rockingham County, the widow of Rev. Lonnie Hyler, a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Surviving are daughter, Pat Strickland of Asheboro; sons, Jimmy Hyler of Elon College, Thomas Hyler of Burlington; sister, Janie Smith of Eden; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

David M. Fogleman, Jr.
RANDLEMAN - David Monroe Fogleman Jr., 40, of 105 Tabernacle St., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Don Hurlburt officiating.
He was a native of Randolph County, attended First Wesleyan Church of Randleman and was employed with March Furniture of Ramseur.
Surviving are wife, Elaine Ellison Fogleman of Randleman; sons, David Monroe Fogleman III of Asheboro and Jeremy Fogleman of Raleigh; parents, David and Mary Reitzel Fogleman of Randleman; sisters, Susan Mosley of Level Cross and Mary Ann Swaim of Asheboro; grandmother, Mary Reitzel of Asheboro.

ASHEBORO - John Garfield Julius, 59, of 420 N. Cherry St., Asheboro, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church.
He was a native of New York and worked 25 years for Acme-McCrary Hosiery Mill.
Surviving are daughters, Desandra Baldwin and Tina Julius, both of Asheboro, Pamela Julius of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

He was a native of Liberty, a member of First United Methodist Church, a former co-owner of Deaton's Pharmacy in Liberty and was a member of the Liberty Lions Club.

She was a native of Randolph County and retired from Randolph Mills.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, the last charter member of Greystone Baptist Church, retired from Union Carbide and a self-employed flower vendor.
Surviving are son, Tom C. King of Asheboro; daughter, Sandra K. Hasty of Indian Trail; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six brothers; four sisters.

He was a native of Randolph County, a member of First Christian Church in Ramseur, a World War II U.S. Army veteran where he received the Purple Heart, a member of the National Guard, retired from Burlington Industries, and worked at Riddles, Inc.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of John A. Hill, a homemaker, and a member of Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting where she taught Sunday School.

She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of Homer Grove, retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill in Randleman and employed with Randleman Savings & Loan for eight years.
Surviving are son, Larry Bird of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepsons, Butch Grove of Randleman, H.T. Grove of Franklinville; stepdaughter, Debbie Tucker of Randleman.
