Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Wilson Harris officiating. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.
She was a native of Orange County, the widow of William Paul Kernodle and a homemaker. She attended First Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are daughters, Carolyn K. Lassiter of Lillington, Glenda K. Helms of Robbins; brother, the Rev. Thomas Kenyon of Asheboro; sister, Margaret K. Antrim of Donna, Texas; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

CAMERON - Essie Key Denny, 96, of 229 Byrd Road, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at her home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lamm's Grove Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Calvin Harward officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Surry County and the widow of Hilton Denny.

Burial will be 4 p.m. at Parks Crossroad Christian Church Cemetery, Ramseur, with the Rev. James Turner and the Rev. Everett Reconnu officiating.
He was a native of Asheboro, retired after 38 years with Jaclyn Hosiery as plant superintendent, a past president of the Camden Kiwanis Club, a member of the Optimist Club, a member of the Kershaw County Library Board and a Sunday School teacher and former deacon at his church.
Surviving are wife, Blanche Coward Cox; daughters, Nancy C. Hopkins of Southern Pines, Galetta C. Eddings and Janet C. Sheheen, both of Camden, S.C.; son, George Ronald "Ronnie" Cox of Asheboro; brother, Elvin Cox of Ramseur; six grandsons.

He was a native of Green Springs, Ohio, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and a retiree from Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.
Surviving are wife, Joan Berger Heckman of Sterling, Va.; son, William Earl Heckman of Agawam, Mass.; daughters, Sandi Fries of Ramseur, Susan Frances Fawley of Fremont, Ohio; four granddaughters; five great-grandchildren.
