LEXINGTON - Anna Lynn Potts Elkins, 68, formerly of 710 Davidson Ave., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Randy Lucas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of R.C. Potts Jr. and retired from Lexington Furniture.
Surviving are son, Rodney D. Potts of Asheboro; daughter, Layne McCarn of Lexington; husband, Ralph Elkins of Clemmons; brothers, Alfred Shoaf, James Carlton "Cotton" Shoaf, both of Lexington; stepbrothers, Bobby Reich, Joe R. "Duck" Reich and Paul Reich, all of Lexington; sisters, Audrey Everhart of Welcome, Carol Phillips of Lexington; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Nellie King Cross, 89, formerly of 251 Liberty St., Asheboro, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Brithaven of Chapel Hill.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Westminster Gardens, Greensboro, with Dr. Boyd Stokes officiating.
She was a native of Cumberland County, the widow of Romie Cross and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was employed with Acme-McCrary Hosiery Mill and was owner and operator of JoNell Antiques in Asheboro.
Surviving are daughter, Joan Clodfelter of Chapel Hill; brothers, J.A. King Jr. of Greensboro, Haywood King of Elon College, William King of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Louise Watson of Pleasant Garden, Elizabeth Traynham of Cheraw, S.C.; two grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN - Robert Marshall Culler, 76, formerly of 2255 Forest Haven Drive, Climax, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Red Cross Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Bud Rowe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors.
He was a native of Randolph County and an U.S. Army veteran. He was retired from Commonwealth Hosiery Mill.
Surviving are son, Bob M. Culler of Asheboro; daughters, Brenda Washburn of Ramseur, Annette Washburn of Greensboro, Robin Cunningham of Climax, Susan Tincher of Randleman; sister, Elaine Freeman of Asheboro; brothers, Lewis Culler and James Culler, both of Randleman; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Joseph J. Warren
ARCHDALE - Joseph Junior Warren, 81, formerly of 301 Aldridge Road, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Graybrier Nursing and Retirement Center.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Archdale United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Dr. Mary John Dye and the Rev. Harold D. Shives officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery.
He was a native of Stokes County, the owner and operator of Warren Radio-TV, served as co-treasurer at Archdale United Methodist Church and was a member of the Adult Fellowship Sunday School class. He served on the City Council of Archdale and as mayor, was a member of the Archdale-Trinity Lions Club, was active with Meals on Wheels and was on the board of Randolph County Senior Adults Association. He received the Governors Award for volunteerism and received an award from the United Way.
Surviving is wife, Mae Blakley Warren of the home.

She was a native of South Carolina and was a kindergarten teacher at Seagrove Elementary School, Farmer Elementary School and Ramseur Elementary School. She assisted her husband, who is Minister of Youth and Family at Cross Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are husband, Lee Ziegler; sons, Zack Ziegler and Luke Ziegler, both of the home; mother and stepfather, Mary and Byron Reed of Williston, S.C.; brothers, Ronnie Jowers of Atlanta, Ga. and Brian Jowers of Columbia, S.C.
The family will be at the church Tuesday in the Christian Life Center following the memorial service.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post #8.

She was a native of Moore County and a retired bank teller.

She was a native of Moore County and was formerly of the Glendon community, where she was active in the Fair Promise United Methodist Church and had worked as a nurse at Moore Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are husband, William F. Powell Jr.; sons, W. Jeffrey Powell of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Kenneth G. Powell of Thomasville; three grandchildren.
