Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Troy, where he was a member, with the Rev. Raleigh Castelloe, the Rev. Dennis Murphy and the Rev. Barney Gibson officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Ronda.
He was a native of Wilkes County, the present commander of the Lowe Warner American Legion Post and organized the Montgomery County Babe Ruth Baseball League and American Legion baseball.
Surviving are wife, Elaine Prevette Weaver of the home; sons, Ron Weaver of Troy, Ryan Weaver of Maiden; sister, Joann Miller of Booneville; four grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Beulah Lanier Bunton, 90, of 3441 Timber Ridge Lake Road, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at her home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Smithwood United Church of Christ, where she was a member. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington.
She was the widow of Thomas Paul Bunton and a former pianist and Sunday school teacher at her church.
Surviving are daughters, Rosa Paulette B. Schreiber of Greensboro, Nancy B. Steelman of Pleasant Garden; brother, Ernest Lanier of Asheboro; five grandchildren.

He was a native of Montgomery County and retired from Acme-McCrary. Corporation.

ASHEBORO - Rebecca "Reba" Leigh Lewis Dean, 80, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Edward S. Tapper officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Wilson, the widow of John Arthur Dean, and a choir member, member of the United Methodist Women, a treasurer and membership secretary at her church. She was a volunteer at Randolph Hospital, delivered Meals-on-Wheels, volunteered with the special education program at Teachey Elementary School and had worked at Asheboro Animal Hospital.
Surviving are daughter, Sandy Freeman of Greensboro; son, John Dean of Jamestown; brother, Albert C. Lewis of Greensboro; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Davidson County, self-employed in grading and landscaping and had served with the U.S. Army National Guard.

She was a retired employee of Boling Chair Company.

SILER CITY - Irene Brafford Vetito, 88, of Hoke County, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Providence United Methodist Church, Siler City, with the Rev. David Wade, the Rev. Warren Owens and the Rev. Donald Cashwell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Chatham County, the widow of Jack Vetito and a retired sales clerk with Thalhimers in Greensboro. She was a member of Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, Greensboro, and attended Wall Stone Baptist Church in Fayetteville where she was a member of the WMU and the Senior Citizen Club.
Surviving are daughter, Janice V. Moreau of Hoke County; sisters, Ruth B. Wilkie and Betty B. Dixon, both of Siler City; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the church following the service.

She was a native of Manila, Philippines, a member of the Phil-Am Association of Greensboro, and had worked as a certified public accountant in the Philippines.

She was a native of Granville County, the widow of Herman T. Sherman and a homemaker.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a retiree from General Electric, a member of the Baracca Sunday School Class and a former president of the Quaker Men at his church.

CARTHAGE - Winfred "Fred" S. McLeod, 66, of Carthage, formerly of Goldsboro, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, when the plane he was piloting crashed in Virginia.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, with the Rev. Terry Huffines and the Rev. Lawrence W. Mason officiating. Burial will be in Dover Baptist Church Cemetery, Seagrove.
He was a native of Ether, a graduate of Virginia Tech and received his master's degree from Clemson University. He worked for the N.C. Community College system and was retired as a VO-AG teacher in the Moore County Schools system. He was a certified flight instructor, was employed as an aircraft mechanic, gave flight instruction at Moore County airport and was a member of the N.C. Wing of the Confederate Air Force based at the Moore County Airport.
Surviving are fiancee, Jeanette Metcalf of Carthage; daughters, Paula McLeod of Durham and Karen M. Jennings of Goldsboro; sister, Marian G. Blakely of Columbia, S.C.; brothers, Milton P. McLeod of Tucson, Ariz., Charles E. McLeod Jr. of Vacaville, Calif., Bobby G. McLeod of Sandston, Va., Roy G. McLeod of Richmond, Va., David C. McLeod of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren.
