CANDOR - Pauline Blake Dickens, 80, of Autumn Care Nursing Home in Biscoe, formerly of Candor, died Feb. 3, 2002, at the nursing home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County, a graduate of Candor High School, the widow of William T. Dickens and attended First United Methodist Church in Troy. She was retired from Gilead Manufacturing and worked for Shanna Manufacturing after her retirement.
Surviving are sisters, Alma B. Minish of Greensboro and Velvin B. Kelly of Troy.
The family will be at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, other times at the home of Velkin Kelly, 1258 N.C. 109, Troy.

HIGH POINT - Walter Byron McCraw Jr, 66, of 4417 Orchard Knob Lane, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at his residence.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville, where he attended, with Dr. Kyles Wallace and the Rev. Peggy Finch officiating.
He was a native of Swannanoa, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retired as vice president of Wachovia Bank and worked at First National Bank in Asheboro after retirement. He was a member of the High Point Kiwanis Club and the Elks Club and coached in the Pony and Colt Baseball Leagues.
Surviving are wife, Carolyn "Kaye" Robinson of the home; daughters, Carol McCraw Herndon of Salisbury, Gaye McCraw Outlaw of Trinity, Lynn McCraw Cunningham of High Point; sisters, Dorothy McCraw Lowe of Mountain City, Tenn., Betty McCraw Marston of Old Fort and Ethelene McCraw Brasington of Swannanoa; three grandchildren.
The family will be at the church following the service.

He was a native of Perry County, Ky., a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired chaplain.

She was a native of Montgomery County, the widow of Claude Williams, a member of Wadeville United Methodist Church and retired from United Mills.
Surviving are son, Jim H. Williams of Troy; brother, Frank Hartsell of Mt. Gilead; sister, Virginia Fike of Mt. Gilead; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Oregon, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Asheboro and a retired school teacher who taught in Okinawa, Germany, High Point and eastern North Carolina.
Surviving is brother, Eugene Tyson of Asheboro.

A native of Randolph County, she was formerly employed at Tip-Top Hosiery and retired from Randolph Hospital.
Surviving are daughters, Nancy S. Black of High Point, Frances F. Yannuzzi and Levena F. "Pete" Norris, both of Asheboro; sons, William "Bill" Farr and Tommy Farr, both of Asheboro; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Surviving are son, J.D. "Danny" Smith of Asheboro; daughters, Barbara S. Johnson of Fayetteville, Jane S. Starnes of Charlotte; half brother, Coolidge Almond of Reidsville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

TORRANCE, Calif. - Edward M. Porras, 85, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at his home.
He was a native of Yuma, Ariz., and a graduate of Santa Monica City College where he received a degree in automotive repair. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient.
Surviving are sons, Edward Porras of Cerritos, Calif., David Porras of Asheboro, Frank Porras of Costa Mesa, Calif., Larry Porras of Hampton, Va.; daughters, Rita Millette of Orange County, Calif., Helen Valdes and Juanita Porras-Garcia, both of San Fernando Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
