Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Faron Overton officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a native of Randolph County and worked as a survey rodman, a cook, and in the furniture industry.
Surviving are wife, Clara Jean "Jeannie" Freeman of the home; sons, Rodney S. Freeman of Asheboro, Randy S. Freeman of the home; mother, Mary Allene Harper Freeman of Asheboro; sisters, Janice F. Luck and Macie F. Calloway, both of Asheboro; granddaughter, Angel Leach of the home; two grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - John Beane, 93, of 2619 Bethel Lucas Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Big Oak Church of God with Earl Ward officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Montgomery County.
Surviving are sons, Ernie Beane of Star, Ivey Lee Beane of Asheboro and Darrell Beane of Troy; daughter, Myrtle Kathleen Beane Carter of Star; sister, Myrtle Rose of Asheboro; 20 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Inez Layton Fogleman, 84, of 8920 N.C. 49 S., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at her residence.

She was a native of Guilford County, a homemaker, a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church and the widow of A.F. Fogleman Jr.

She was a native of Randolph County and a charter member of Level Cross United Methodist Church.

GREENSBORO - Archie Earl Warren Jr., 73, of 4962 Randleman Road, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Balfour Baptist Church, Asheboro, with Dr. John C. Noble officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a 33 degree mason, past Master of Community Lodge #64 and served as chairman of deacons at Lane Avenue Baptist Church, all in Columbus, Ohio. He formerly worked as an engineer and announcer at WGWR radio in Asheboro, but retired from General Electric Corp. He was a member at Cornerstone Baptist Church in High Point.
Surviving are wife, Colleen Richardson Warren of the home; daughters, Rita Warren DeFoe of Asheboro, Donna Warren Cook of Salem, Va.; two grandsons.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating.

RANDLEMAN - Pauline Lambe Allred, 76, of 4875 Old Walker Mill Road Ext., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.

She was retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill, attended Midway Wesleyan Church and sang and played piano with the McArthur family and the Moore family.

He was a native of Kernersville, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was retired from United Brass Works.

PITTS, Ga. - Margaret S. Lawson, 76, of 166 South Sixth St., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at her residence.
Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Frazier-Holt Funeral Directors, Rochelle, Ga., with the Rev. Jack Dowdy officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Savannah, Ga.
She was a native of Cook County, a retired school teacher with the Wilcox County school system, the widow of Dr. Samuel J. Lawson Jr., and attended Pitts Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons, Samuel J. Lawson III of Pitts, Ga., Stephen Wilder Lawson of Portal, Ga.; daughter, Sally Margaret Barnes of Asheboro; brother, James T. Swymer of Orange, Texas; half sister, Mary S. Jay of Altamont, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

William V. Long Jr.
ASHEBORO - William "Bill" Vance Long Jr., 64, of 323 Greenvale Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Randleman, where he was a member, with the Rev Kenneth Reaves officiating. Burial will be in Biscoe Cemetery, Biscoe.
He was a native of Montgomery County, a graduate of Campbell College and Catawba College and he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was employed for over 30 years as a banker with First Union National Bank in Randleman and then with First National Bank and Trust of Randolph County, where he established the first branch outside of Asheboro. He lobbied Congress in the mid-1960s for construction of the Randleman Dam, was a member of the Lion's Club where he served as president and was named the 1969 Randleman Jaycees' Man of the Year by the Randleman Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the N.C. Wildlife Federation, received the Woodman of the World Conservation Award in 1988 and a Sunday School teacher, trustee, treasurer, Royal Ambassador instructor, member of the pulpit committee and a deacon at his church.
Surviving are wife, Sylvia Kennedy Long of the home; sons, Vance Bradford Long and William Andrew Long, both of Asheboro, Robert Barry Long of Concord; six grandchildren.
The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Amos Tysinger and a retiree of Klaussner Furniture Industries.
