Funeral service will 2 p.m. Thursday at Midway Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Donald Dawalt and the Rev. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, attended Midway Wesleyan Church and was retired from J.P. Stevens.
Surviving are daughters, Madie C. McPherson of Climax, Betty Luck, Phyllis Marsh, both of Asheboro; son, Steve Cranford of Climax; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Surry County, a homemaker and a seamstress.

CARTHAGE - Norman Leaton Brown, 56, of 141 Firelane Road, died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Fred Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Moore County and a farmer.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Rick Moser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Alamance County, the widow of Romie George Davis, a retired secretary for Pilot Life Insurance, a member of the Golden Nuggets, a former officer of Mount Hermon Community Association, a member of Eureka Home Extension Club, a graduate of Wilson High School and attended Elon College.
Surviving are son, Holt Freeman Davis of Burlington; sister, Lillian Roberson of Graham; brothers, Isaac "June" Holt Jr., Arthur E. "Monk" Holt, both of Graham.

He was a native of Portsmouth, Ohio, the widower of Bertha White, retired head of security of General Motors in Ohio, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a retired Staff Sgt. in the Air National Guard. He was an Ohio state patrolman, past governor of the Moose Lodge in Asheboro, a Mason, a member of AmVets, the V.F.W., American Legion and was a past Drill Master with the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Surviving are daughters, Judy Little of Kure Beach, Patricia Knepp of Asheboro; sons, Dennis Lee White of Wellston, Ohio, Roger Lambert of Chesapeake, Ohio, Larry Prater of Athens, Tenn., Garry Prater of Asheboro; brothers, the Rev. W. Marion White of Portsmouth, Ohio, Donald White of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., Paul E. White of Minford, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
