She was a native of Richmond County, New York, the widow of James Gilbert Dunn Sr., a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a homemaker.
Surviving are daughter, Emma Bell of Siler City; sons, James G. Dunn Jr. of Siler City, Donald Dunn of Havre de Grace, Md.; brother, Vincent Williams Schnurr of Staten Island, N.Y.; sister, Ann Fitzgerald of Staten Island, N.Y.; three grandchildren.

DENTON - Carolyn Jane Hedrick Colson, 51, of Regan Road, Lexington, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Winston-Salem.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Fairview United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Alvin Pope officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Davidson County and a former employee of the Davidson County Schools.

She was a native of Asheboro and was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Henderson County Public Library. She attended Greensboro College and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in English.
Surviving are husband, Dr. Francis A. Buchanan; son, Jim Buchanan of Charlotte; daughter, Lynne B. Allen of Oak Ridge; sister, Lucille Gurka of Pittsboro; one granddaughter.

She was the widow of Elder Aaron W. Stanback, a homemaker, a Mother in her church, vice-president of the Missionary Society, a member of the Adult Choir, founder of the Pastor's Aide Society, chaplain of the Oak Ridge Chapter #547, Order of the Eastern Star, Mt. Gilead, and a graduate of Peabody High School, Troy.
Surviving are daughters; Catherine Ingram and Constella Marshall, both of Mt. Gilead; sisters, Elizabeth Orr and Katie McRae, both of Mt. Gilead; foster brother, Edward Dumas of Mt. Gilead; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; a number of stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
