He was a native of High Point, attended High Point public schools, was a U.S. Army veteran and employed in the construction business.

TROY - William Burris Sr., 69, of 1353 N.C. 109 North, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Covenant Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Dexter Gibson and the Rev. Cletus Lamonds officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery.
He was a native of Montgomery County and a retired employee of McRae Industries.

ROBBINS - Noah Alfred Sheffield, 75, died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

He was a native of Moore County and a retired farmer.
Surviving is half brother, Abe Stutts of Mount Holly.

He was a native of Randolph County and retired from Brady Lumber Company, Coleridge.

He was a native of Dillon, S.C., a retired electrician with Sara Lee Corporation in High Point, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member and past president of Gideons International, a Sunday School teacher for the Adult Bible class, choir director for 20 years, former superintendent of the Sunday School department at his church and active in Jail Ministries.
Surviving are wife, Stella Shore Ivey of the home; daughters, Kathy Fowler of Denton, Judy Stone of Thomasville, Debbie Jarrett of Silver Valley; sons, Donald Ivey of Thomasville, Mark Ivey of Asheboro; sisters, Hazel Turbeville, Bessie Sellers, both of Fayetteville, Lizzie Mae Woods of Bennettsville, S.C.; brother, Branford Ivey of Fayetteville; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
