SEAGROVE - Benjamin Wade Owen Jr., 64, of 184 Yow Road, died Monday, April 22, 2002, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home in Star.
He was a native of Seagrove, a 1956 graduate of Elise High School, a 1960 graudate of Pfeiffer University and a political science teacher. He was a potter at Jugtown and Ben Owen Pottery and served on the Moore County Board of Education. He was a former member of the Asheboro Jaycees, a member of the American Angus Association, the N.C. Cattleman's Association, the American Kennel Club and Smyrna United Methodist Church.
Surviving are wife, Shirley B. Owen of the home; son, Benjamin W. Owen III of Seagrove; sister, Jane O. Barbot of Raleigh; one grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, other times at the home.

SEAGROVE - George William Tunstall, 52, of 5803 Picketts Road, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Look to Jesus Christian Center in Asheboro.
He was retired from Richmond County Public Schools.
Surviving are wife, Sheila Gladden Tunstall; daughters, Martina M. Manley of Randleman, Ondra M. Gladden of Seagrove, Dannellia Gladden-Green of Plano, Texas; sister, Mable Ann T. Cousins of Richmond, Va.; brothers, James Edward Tunstall, Charles Tunstall, both of Richmond, Va.; 11 grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County and retired from John Plant.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Sam Caviness and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Troy.

He was a native of Randolph County and a retired worker from the N.C. Department of Transportation after 35 years.

She was a native of Randolph County and the widow of David Harris Snider. As a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, she was a member of the UMW and the church pianist.
