Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at First Wesleyan Church, Troy, where she was a member, with the Rev. Douglas W. Beadle and the Rev. Ken Kline officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County, an employee of Montgomery Acoustical Contractors and a former employee of Capels Inc.
Surviving are husband, Edward D. (Buddy) Thomas of the home; daughters, Debbie Smith of Chapel Hill, Annette Warner of Troy; sisters, Myrtle Maness of Star, Frances Russell, Martha Hamilton, both of Troy; brothers, Vernon Hamilton of Troy, James Hamilton of Asheboro; four grandchildren.

GREENSBORO - John Clark Thompson, 83, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, with the Rev. Bart Mileson officiating. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II, and a member of Hinshaw United Methodist Church and the Men's Club.
Surviving are son, Wallace Thompson of West End; one grandson; two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bright Light Baptist Church, Robbins, with the Rev. Ralph Von Cannon, the Rev. Darrell Wilson and the Rev. Gonselee Moore officiating. Burial will be at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Moore County and a retired worker from Mansion Homes in Robbins.

He was a native of Greensboro, a retired foreman for Weeks and Andrews Construction Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a native of Star, a retired employee of Johnson Motor Lines and a self-employed painter. He was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, and a choir member, former Sunday School teacher and former Sunday School superintendent at his church.
Surviving are wife, Pauline Hill Sykes of the home; son, Hoyle Sykes Jr. of Archdale; daughters, Cathy Sykes of Jamestown, Yvette Slawter of Greensboro, Francine Bryan of Lynchburg, Va., Merissa Sykes of High Point; brother, Bill Sykes of High Point; sisters, Frances Blair of Athens, Ga., Mildred French and Becky Small, both of High Point; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
