Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Joe Casteel officiating.
He was a native of Burnsville, retired controller with Williams & Brower and Chatham Hospital Inc., a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class.
Surviving are wife, Hazel Williams Whisnant of Siler City; son, Dr. William H. "Bill" Whisnant of Bristol, Tenn.; two grandchildren.
The family will be at First United Methodist Church, Siler City, 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday.

ASHEBORO - Ethel Moody Dickens, 84, formerly of Poole Town Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Billy Hagee officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Julius Dickens and a retired worker from Stedman Corp. She attended Amity Hills Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Betty Farr of Asheboro; sons, Jerry Dickens and Steven Dickens, both of Asheboro; sister, Vida Moody of Asheboro; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 1-2 p.m. Tuesday.

SILER CITY - Lottie McDaniel Burns, 94, of 900 W. Dolphin St., died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at SunBridge Care Facilities, Siler City.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Warren Owens officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Bonlee.
She was a native of Chatham County, a member of Hope United Methodist Church and a retired worker from A.J. Schneierson & Sons.
Surviving are sons, L. Ervin Burns of Bear Creek, Lindo Lee Burns Sr. of Poquoson, Va.; brother, Marshall McDaniel of Siler City; three grandchildren; one stepgrandson; six great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of L. Ervin Burns, 4056 McLaurin Road, Bear Creek.

SILER CITY - Larry K. Jordan, 64, of 463 Eden Hills Road, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Bear Creek, where he was a member, with the Rev. Darrell Garner and the Rev. Jimmy Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Lee County, owner/operator of the Piggly-Wiggly Store in Sanford and a member of the Adult Sunday School class, a trustee and a member of the building fund committee at his church.
Surviving are wife, Linda Smith Jordan of Siler City; sons, Kent Jordan of Wendell, Michael Jordan of Biloxi, Miss.; daughter, Vicki J. Gentry of Sanford; stepson, Shannon Wilson of Goldston; stepdaughter, Gina Wheeler of Hickory; brothers, Ronald Jordan of Nashville, John Robert Jordan of Pickens, S.C.; half-brother, Carlton Davis of Sanford; four grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters.

She was a native of Rapid City, S.D., and retired from Chicago Title Insurance Company.

He was a native of Montgomery County, retired owner and operator of J.D.'s Fashions and Outlet, attended Bethel Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

CANDOR - Anne Estelle Mallison Tomlinson, 92, of South Tomlinson Street, died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Penick Village, Southern Pines.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Candor Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Edsel Huffstetler officiating. Burial will be in Candor Cemetery.
She was a native of Pamlico County, the widow of James Robert Tomlinson, a graduate of East Carolina College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received a master's in Education and an elementary schoolteacher for 40 years.
Surviving are sons, J.R. Tomlinson Jr. of Candor, Garrett Tomlinson of Greensboro; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

EAGLE SPRINGS - W. Lynn Martin, 87, of 604 Eagle Springs Road, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Eagle Springs Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Zeb Moss and the Rev. Don Burns officiating. A private burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Moore County, a deacon and Sunday School teacher at his church, a former member of the Moore County Board of Commissioners and a member of the District Boy Scout Board. He was on the West End School Board, the West End BB & T Bank Advisory Board and the Moore County Industrial Board. He was a charter member of the Eagle Springs Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a fireman, a retired employee of the N.C. Human Relations Commission and a retired farmer and merchant.
Surviving are wife, Pauline Staley Martin; daughters, Sue Parrish of Clayton, Shirley Ferguson of Asheville; sons, David Martin of Sanford, Dale Martin of Wilson, Dana Martin of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren.
The family will be at the church 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

He was a native of Asheboro, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War and retired from Union Carbide and the U.S. Army Reserve.

She was the widow of Walter Terell Kidd, a graduate of Clio High School, Clio, S.C., a 1934 graduate of Flora McDonald College, Red Springs and a teacher in the Moore County Schools System for 40 years. She was an elder in her church and was treasurer for 14 years.
Surviving are daughter, Carolyn K. Rimmer of the home; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter.
